The camera is excellent and easy to use. Image quality is sharp. My major concern is the reliability of the view screen. It would seem to be a single point of failure, however square trade offers a 3 year policy for a reasonable price. The case is just a bit too small and the Tripod large. Easy to use and great photos
This is a very good camera. It's ability to take a low light photo without flash is miles above the others. The top mounted flash makes it possible to take close up macro shots without the lens blocking the flash and ruining your photos as most large lens cameras will. there is nothing this camera doesn't do well and the photos its takes are amazing. The only drawback is all of your settings are lost if the camera isn't kept plugged in for a few days.
I tried and had to return several comparable cameras. Its not really pocket sized but if you are looking for a full featured camera in this class, the Nikon CoolPix S9900 is the one to buy.Read full review...

Well designed, solid and has internal GPS
I do some contract photo work and recently clients have started asking for location information on the image files. This model Nikon has internal GPS. I hadn't owned a Nikon since the Niikkormat days, so I was impressed once agin with Nikon's engineering end ergonomics. The S9900 is an older model, so I was pleased that the vendor offered a better price than on the Nikon website. This is apparently a unit intended for a foreign market, but it works fine in the US.
