Nikon D7000 dslr

The camera is not a standard POINT AND SHOOT, although does have that capability. It is a very nice camera outfit with many, many functions and settings. You can pretty much accomplish any type of picture you can think of. It is complicated IF you are not dslr savvy. If you read the owners manual and make yourself learn the functions, you will enjoy this camera. It takes GREAT pictures! AGAIN, it is very easy in the full AUTO mode but it will take trial and error and learning to MASTER. Final word, it is a GREAT camera, but then again, it is a Nikon!Read full review...

Great body! Skip the kit lens and spend $ on a better quality lens

I absolutely love this camera! I researched it for several months prior to making the purchase and have never regretted it. I purchased the body alone with a different lens, as the image quality and the construction quality of the kit lens is not that great--I mean,it's an intro lens afterall. The D7000 is very versatile. In fact, I am intending to upgrade to a full-frame camera in a couple years, and will use this as a backup. Also, I am purchasing only FX glass so that I can use them on the full-frame without any problems.

To "dxz1940" who seems to have had a bad experience with his Nikon D7000. It appears that the battery issue you experienced is a fluke because I have owned a Nikon D7000 for about one and a half years (since it was released) and have not experienced any type of problem like this--or any problem at all for that matter--nor has anyone else I know who owns this camera. It's too bad you experienced such poor customer service. It seems like all you needed was a replacement battery. Also, did you charge the battery prior to your first use? I can shoot *hundreds* of photos without a problem on a single batter charge, and still have battery life to shoot 1080/24 video.

I give it 5 stars because the body is awesome; the kit lens, not so much if you're really serious about photography.

Great inexpensive camera

It's an old model, but still works like charm. Very versatile, easy to use and great image quality. Most important, has inner autofocus motor which enhances lens which don't. Two SD card slots, big screen, quick and quiet focus.Read full review...

Professionnal results in a box.

This camera is awesome. I used to have a very basic Point and Shoot cam, then I used a Bridge type camera for a while. This one overcomes everything. It's ISO sensitivity is incredible and I made multiple HDR shots already, even when it was dark. It's low noise is very appreciated. The camera has a very good feeling although it's a little bit heavy to take on the go. BAttery life is good, but nothing extraordinary. The major plus it has to me is its profound depth of color compared to its competitors. As I like to play with colors in post processing, it helps a lot and my pictures are going out beautifully. I also recorded 1080p videos in dark and colors and shadows went out not perfect but very good! It shoots fast, it shoots right, it is just what the amateur in me desires. If you want to take a look at sample pictures, i'm olivier.myre on flickr. Ciao!Read full review...

Nikon D7000 brings out photographer in me

Nikon makes a great camera and has for a very long time. I was in the newspaper business for many years and that's all our photographers used because Nikons are dependabale. The Nikon D7000 I purchased is a very nice mid-level DSLR with loads of features. And I like that it takes high resolution video. So far the photos that I have taken are crisp and clear but I'm still learning the ins and outs of this camera. I also like the feel of it in my hands, not too heavy and not too light, and the buttons are easy for my fingers to reach quickly. I like the three-inch view screen and use it most of the time for taking photos and video. A friend of mine is a professional photographer and teaches photography at a local arts college. His equipment is far more advanced than mine but on examining my D7000 he was quite impressed. It made me feel like I made the right choice. Previously, I owned a Canon DSLR. It, too is a great camera, but I like the Nikon better. I chose Ebay for my purchase because of several reasons. First, was the variety of choices in vendors that allowed me to shop and compare products and price. Ebay also protects me from making a bad purchase and I like it that I can use Bill Me Later. The rating of sellers is a major factor in making a purchase because high scores indicate a willingness to make customers feel at ease in buying from them online. I will continue buying and selling on Ebay.Read full review...

Good camera for the beginner and gives you room to grow as a photographer.

After doing my research on the Nikon D7000 I was able to locate this camera with a low shutter count. This is the first DSLR full size camera I have owned. It is loaded with features and am just getting used to taking pictures with it. I went with the Nikon as it has a great reputation and the vast lenses available for it.Read full review...

This is very simple, if you are a Nikon shooter looking for a new camera th

This camera is brilliant to hold and use. Nikon has done it again and has made the user interface more usable and streamlined. What to change flash modes. Press the flash pop-up button and rotate the control wheel. Sweet. Want to change create and use a User defined mode? There are two. Set your mode up. Go to the menu and save it. To use it rotate the shooting mode dial to U1 or U2. Presto you are there. In the D300 and D700 you to have to setup things in the menu and switch in the menu. Also, there were 2 sets of things you could change and they were not all inclusive. It was all horribly confusing and I never used it. Speaking of shooting modes. There is now one position on the shooting mode dial for scene mode shooting. You change through the different scene modes with the control wheel and the type scene shows up on the back screen. Sweet. I can go on and on but needless to say Nikon have really improved their interface. One caveat, I don't think it is quite up to par with the GH1 to change exposure compensation (IMO the most important control) but still a huge step in the correct direction in handling. I like the handling of the D7000 better than either the D700/300.Read full review...

This Digital SLR Camera Nikon D7000 is excellent to carry and use. Nikon has done it again and has created the program more useful and sleek. What to modify flash methods. Click the flash pop-up switch and move the management rim. Lovely. Want to modify, make and use a Person identified mode? There are two. Set your method up. Go to the list and preserve it. To use it move the firing method move to U1 or U2. Viola you are there. In the Camera Nikon D300 and Camera Nikon D700, you to have to make items in the list and move in the list. Furthermore, there were two pieces of items you could modify, and they were not all comprehensive. It was all badly complicated, and I never used it. Talking of firing methods. There is now one location on the firing method move for world method firing. You modify through the different world methods with the management rim, and the form world reveals up on the rear again screen. Lovely. I can go on and on but unwanted by say Nikon have really increased their screen. One warning, I don't think it is quite up to par with the GH1 to modify visibility settlement (IMO the most essential control) but still an enormous phase in the appropriate route in managing. I like the managing of the Nikon D7000 16.2MP DX-Format CMOS Digital SLR better than either the NikonRead full review...

very good seller A+++++++

The good: Excellent performance for its class; great viewfinder; control locations and operations streamlined over previous Nikon dSLRs; double SDXC-compatible card slots.

The bad: No 1080/30p video.

The bottom line: An excellent dSLR for experienced shooters or Nikon professionals looking for a relatively cheap option, the Nikon D7000 delivers on almost all counts, including the company's best shooting design to date.

When it comes to mid-to-high-end dSLRs, it takes quite a bit to float my boat these days. I'm not looking for whizzy new features, bold redesigns, or insane burst rates for either myself or the shoppers I advise; to me, the perfect camera just gets out of the way between my eye and the final photograph (and perhaps video). That's a lot more elusive than you'd expect.

Very nice upgrade and the price was good allowing me to experience a better camera.

Surprising picture quality for an older model. I got a very good deal, and exceeds my expectations. I would have to say this is my best camera to date so far. But it's pretty heavy. Great lens, the unit I purchased was good quality and condition.
I would buy again...if you like many settings and scene tweaks, this camera is really nice. No wifi, but just plug into your special USB slot..yes it has a special cord to your computer and you are all set.
