Great little body. Shouldn't let you down.

A great amateur level DSLR, that delivers professional quality results. It has plenty of user adjustable functions although some more frequently used functions need several button presses to set them (annoyingly ISO is one of them - although you can set the custom function button to do ISO there are other equally useful functions to assign to it!). I bought the camera as an ex demo model to tide me over until I could get an FX Nikon DSLR, with the intention of selling it on. I’ve been so impressed with it that I may just keep it as a back up when the new camera arrives.
It’s quite a small body, and fitting Nikon F2.8 glass to it does tend to dwarf the body a little, but that aside its a good buy.Read full review...

Great full spectrum camera

Have taken a few shots to test it out. Daytime IR so far, but I intend to use it for astro as soon as I get some good weather.

A great little camera and at a good price.

I bought the D5000 as backup to my D5100. Actually I needed a body to use for my 55-300mm lens as changing lenses was rather time consuming and so often the moment was gone.
I find no reduction of picture quality compared to the D5100, and it has very similar features. The price was just right and certainly good value.Read full review...

a little cracker..........

I bought this Camera as a back up to my D5100 .BUT what a pleasant surprise to find it was as good as my D5100.I would highly recommend the D5000 it's small but strong works well and is a lot cheaper.In my opinion this is a little cracker...........hope this dose not push up the price up ..I may want to buy another..Read full review...
