Well, they dont make these anymore.

It is still supported by Nentendo. The cartridges actually contain all the game software so it will work without an internet connection. You can access the internet with a wireless connection. If the parental controls are locked, you can get the unlock key from Nentendo for 50 cents. Watch a YouTube video for easy instructions to unlock the unit if you need to. Check for system updates after internet connection and you are good to go.Read full review...

Three Cracks in Right Hinge + Joystick Broke

The description said there was one crack in the right side hinge, but there are actually three large ones. I don’t close the system to prevent further damage.

The joystick cap also fell off within the first hour of playing it and the plastic piece below it crumbled away. I have to order a replacement joystick and install it myself.Read full review...

Great Quality Product

When the product was delivered to me, it was close to refurbished condition. There wasn't any noticable wear and work perfectly fine. Is in great condition for a slightly used product. Definitely would purchase again.Read full review...

Wonderful device with excellent games!

I got the Nintendo 3DS out of the Vita and because I was a bit tired of trying to play games in android (I am not into this new free to play wave).

The device was second hand but the previous owner managed to take lots of care with it and game away 3 nice games. Right now I have still to finish the first (Tales of the Abyss) and the Nindendo 3DS has saved me from long boring hours. Batery is good as well and can give almost half day of constant playing without charging it again (in my personal experience).

To improve: Nintendo, please improve online purchase of games!. Also Nintendo has to improve the prices, as they are still to expensive!.

Best Purchase on eBay!

Got this 5 days faster then estimated delivery date, received in 100% mint condition, not even a scratch on it, looks and feels brand new! Works wonderfully in 3D and regular mode, no connection issues at all ether and downloads are extremely fast!

I've owned a Wii, and a regular DS lite and they were ok..but this thing is a beast, and has gotten me to love Nintendo all over again. I haven't felt this satisfied since my NES/SNES days!

One of the best purchases I’ve made in years. The product came in almost perfect condition and have not had a single problem now and it’s been over a year now. Love it!

Screen Size Does Make A Difference

I bought the 3DS XL because my daughter has a 3DS and wanted another town to go to in Animal Crossing, which I like to play as well. The first thing I noticed is this unit is thinner and wider than my daughter's regular 3DS but not uncomfortably large for a hand held unit. Setup is easy and I love the fact they have Parental Controls, which I use on my daughter's since she is too young to be online unsupervised. The design of the 3DS XL seems a bit nicer than the regular 3DS as the stylus fits nicely in a slot on the bottom within easy reach, rather than in the back like the regular 3DS. The touch screens in both units are very responsive and even a fingernail will work as the stylus in a pinch. My favorite feature of the 3DS XL is the larger screens. I didn't think it would make much difference at first but using the two units side by side, there is a significant difference when going from the 3DS to the 3DS XL. The graphics are still crisp but much easier to read without having the unit too close to your face. Although I love the unit overall, I think the $40-60 increase in price for a bit larger screen is a bit much. The hinge on the 3DS XL seems sturdier as well but these two items don't seem to add up to the increased price in my opinion. If you can find a good one used, especially with included extras, it can be a great buy for kids and adults. Game On!Read full review...

Nintendo 3DS XL Blue and Black

The Nintendo 3DS XL is an absolute piece of gold for Video game collectors and those looking for a new handheld console. The games for this system is a gold mine in of itself, of course there's price to consider too, if your someone who earns a huge amount of money then your in luck. But even if you don't just remember to save up its well worth it. When I saw the price for one at my local game store it was $150 and it was used ( there was a scratch on the housing).

I thought geesh and the price of games especially popular ones that have characters like Mario or Zelda are expensive. When I saw this system at first I wasn't so sure two years ago. I had wanted an original DS for Christmas I got a DSi XL instead. Still pretty nice but the thing was way too heavy though it was big enough for my size hands but its weight is what took its toll on my hands. So then I downgraded from a DSi XL to an Original DS but after trying to replace the housing without consulting a professional who I took it to when I got frustrated, it would turn on and then shut off. (which I will never again attempt to do myself and my 3DS XL does need new housing and a new top screen so I will take it to a professional and have them replace it for me so nothing goes wrong.)

So then I upgraded from a DS to a DS lite. I liked that for a while but then I noticed my hands were getting cramps and it felt like playing on my smartphone. So one day I decided to go through my video game collection I got rid of some games I no longer REALLY played and sure enough I got enough in store credit at my local game store to buy the 3DS XL for a cheap price going from $150 to $32 pretty sweet deal especially since it was used.

I won't mind spending extra for housing, accessories and games. I will just buy a little at a time and it will be well worth it in the future. I do wish there was 1080 pixels instead of 240 pixels but see I don't know if you can fix that with a software upgrade or if it was hardware related but thats OK I don't mind it too much. Compared to the Gameboy Lineup/Series and Previous Nintendo DS Line up/Series the Nintendo 3DS, 3DS XL and new 2DS is a very big step up. I love the 3DS XL!

So let me talk about the 3DS XL's hardware and software. Hardware: The top screen measures at 4.88 inches and the bottom measures at 4.18 inches compared to the original the top screen was 3.53 inches and the bottom was 3.02. Major difference in size and for someone who needs a large screen to see the games more clearly well the system works very well for someone like myself. It has an autostereoscopic LCD screen while the screen is very durable I don't like its reflective properties because if there's anything Nintendo hasn't learned from its competitor Apple Inc., its that people want to focus on their content not the reflection of themselves.

So the LCD screen is a big negative because I know they have the technology to make a non-reflective LCD screen they very easily could've made a Sapphire crystal plastic screen or at least something like it. But then again something like that would've made it difficult for people to use as a touch screen but still it would be nice if there was a little less reflection on the system.

The system is backwards compatible with DS games something that while it works on the 2DS may not work with all games. Allows you to browse the internet, allows you to Download games and apps from the eShop as long as a SD card is inserted into the system.
