Excellent product!

The game system is in excellent shape and came with tons of add ons. Works perfectly and I appreciated that the game came charged so I could test it Immediately. Package was shipped in a secure box as well. Screen doesn't even look like it's been used. My nephew will love it! Thanks again!Read full review...

Nintendo DS Lite

Wow! What a great product! I was never a big fan of video games. My 7 year old is a handful, especially when we are out and he finds himself in situations where he is bored. Doctor's waiting rooms are the worst! Since the DS, there is no more of me having to repeat my son's name a zillion times, and everything seems to go alot smoother. The nintendo DS is a great take along, play anywhere, entertaining game system for all ages, I enjoy playing it also. There's a wide variety of games and I'm sure there's something to suit any taste. The size is great because it'll fit in any purse, large pocket, bookbag, etc...It has many other functions besides gaming such as a clock and calender, but I haven't been able to play with it much since my son has had it, plus he has been an ideal behaving son so I haven't had to take it away yet, but if I did, the size would make it too easy to do. I highly recommend the Nintendo DS, it is a great product.Read full review...

Why I like this game

This device is a minor feat in technology. PS3 , Wii are also great games, but the portablity of this game puts it in a league of its own.

It is sturdy, the touchscreen LCD sensitive and yes durable.
Battery life is amazing. Very easy to use.. very intutional controls. my 7 year old has mastered it without even us having to read the users manaul.

The Brain games are pretty impressive and remove some of the stigma attached to the this generations video games.

All in all.. a maust have to your video gaming arsenal!

A fair item

This item is in the electronic world and kids like it a lot plus there are many games available for it - as with any game of this caliber - games can be expensive.

Con: It needs a protective case for the screens scratch easily and the hinge system seems to be weak. It breaks easy and the upper screen will not stay in place. I am having to have the unit put into a new shell at the moment because of a hinge situation. The battery also could have better life.Read full review...

I got the Cobalt Blue but that's okay...

My son has wanted a nintendo DS lite and I think they are quite pricey and take up a lot of time that people could be doing other more productive things but several of us went in on his Nintendo DS light in the Colbalt metallic Blue color as a group Christmas Gift for him and it worked out well. We traveled to NY this year for Christmas and coming home the Nintendo kept our 9 year old very occupied and not asking us.. "ARE WE THERE YET?" at all. It's great for long trips in the car for sure.Read full review...

Nintendo DS Lite still a hit!

This is a good game system for the younger set since you cannot log on to the internet with it unless you have an adapter or a compatible access point it is easy to monitor useage. It is also good if you had an old gameboy and still wanted to play the games as there is a slot for those types of games as well as the new ds games (Also great if you find gameboy games at garage sales cheap!)
I had decided to buy this for my grandson for his birthday because everytime I would pick him up to stay with me he would dominate my DSi and his gameboy (we had found it at a garage sale)had died a natural death from over use! But games were still playable. And we got it at an affordable price.

DS LITE, THIS GAMING SYSTEM HAS WORKED WONDERS

My one cousin has the white DS LITE, and my other cousin has a red one. The white one has survived a lot of abuse. It has been tossed out of a tree house he said and it hit the pavement below. Luckily it had a case on it, or the whole front would've been screwed up. The second red one was tossed when my cousin got mad at something and tossed it, and it hit the wall, and continues to work with little scrapes on the top as evident of being tossed, otherwise showing no affect to it. It still works. OH and they have EXCELLENT battery life. Have probably never dropped battery in a whole week of heavy using. I will strongly recommend this device, it has worked wonders.Read full review...

Nintendo DS Lite

A handheld with a great pedigree, the DS is Nintendo's latest lucrative, prancing campaign through the handheld market. The DS Lite is Mk.II, fixing some of the issues with the original design, slimming it down to something considerably more sexy while improving the already stellar battery life.

Pros:
- Extensive game library including previous generation GBA cartridges
- Not region-locked, very import-friendly
- Touch screen input allows for versatile UI and creative game elements
- Durable (derp Nintendo products) and clam shell design protects screen
- Free WiFi service, download play (one game across multiple DS systems)
- Homebrew/mod friendly

Cons:
- Limited ability for 3D rendering
- Not compatible with first generation GameBoy and GameBoy Color games
- Lacks features of the Mk.III, the DSi

Amazing hand held console from Nintendo!

The NES-DS/DSlite/DSI is one of the best touch screen gaming systems to date. Since the official launch Nintendo has ensured this system plays games for all Gamers and NON-Gamers a like. The graphics are not better than the rival PSP (1000-3000 model's) however the touch screen integration allows for a variety of different types of game play which the PSP does not support.

The DS/DSlite/DSI is a used system that has tons of cheap games. So if you are looking to play the NEWEST versions of a game this is not the system for you try the 3DS or 2DS or PSP Vita.

Good
-Dual screens
-Wifi Enabled (WEP)
-Can play GBA games
-A lot of pre-owned games on the market for less than $20.00
-Can be purchased for under $50.00
-Hours of battery life on standby
-Can play DS-DS direct Wifi on certain games (2 DS systems and 2 games required)

Bad
-Does not support the latest games
-Only one screen is touch
-Touch screen is TFT not Multitouch (uses a stylus)
-Software support outdated
-Processor is a little laggy compared to other handheld systems

Overall - I love my DSi and I would recommend it to anyone, the cheap price of games out weighs the negatives for me; as I am more focused on game play and story lines than the actual graphics. From time to time I break out my old GBA games and play them which is great cause I loved those games just hated my GBA (too small of a screen and had to hold).

Fantastic, Fun, Friendly System Even Five Years Later.

I didn't buy a DS when it came out for multiple reasons. It cost too much money, I had a Gamecube and a GBA, and I was at a point in my life where I was trying to cut back on video games so I could get more serious with my studies. Now, 5 years after it was originally released, I have finally buckled and gotten one used and cheap on Ebay. I have to say it's probably one of the best purchases I've ever made. It's dangerously fun and so incredibly versatile: I can just slip it into my backpack and carry it around, and only play when I have some time to kill. It's just so easy, so fun, and now so much more affordable than when it first came out. Also, it's easy to decide which games I should get because countless lists of the Top XX Best DS Games have come out online. This is really a fun, fantastic system, and I'm so glad I finally bit the bullet. It's still fantastic and still worth it, even 5 years after its initial release. (Also, the ability to play GBA games is wonderful too! This is the best DS for playing Guitar Hero!)Read full review...
