Still good to have in your collection but opt to play games on a real tv

The original Nintendo Game Boy is an icon of handheld gaming that still holds fame today. Even though you can play gameboy games on subsequent upgraded models through the gameboy advance, it's still nice to have a working original as a collectors piece.

Unfortunately, unlike it's Sega counterpart the Game Gear, it is neither backlit or in color which was its main flaw. Playing games on a tiny non backlit screen was annoying at best and could cause eye strain at worst. Which is why I suggest if you are planning on playing gameboy games for extended periods of time, you instead invest in a Super Gameboy converter for the Super Nintendo or a Game Boy player for the Gamecube. Either will allow you to play on a normal television getting around the crappy screen issue.Read full review...

Good valie for the right parts

Due to the inability to buy gameboy screens on their own, buying 2 broken gameboys and salvaging the good screen was a favorable and cost effective move in the end.
