Good phone for that price. I`m satisfied

So i receive one that. It`s good mobile for 2005, Java 2.0, S40 Series application. Display, i think Nokia can make more bigger, but it`s ok, need to see charasters and Who calling, so it`s not most imortant thing. That qwerty board moves so solid, that make impression of good quality. Mobile is comfortable from first and second side`s, it`s more fat than, for example, nokia 6610. It have all needed function, browser, application, galery, converter and you also can download more app from WAP.
I can`t tell any minuses for it, practical phone.
I make 3 star for features, because i`m compare 2011 and 2005 year, so now some things need to be in phone, like player, good camera, capacity of memory, and other. But if i can rate it in 2005, i make all 5 stars.

Good PDA type, interfaces with PC easily

If you don't want a brick of a PDA hanging from your belt, keep this one in your pocket. It has a full qwerty keyboard. It's a bit dated on web functionality, but if you're not planning on using it for that, it's great. Interfaces with MANY PC's (including Mac's, which is why I bought it), unlike the LG Rumor (that I just got rid of).

Sure, it's design is like 5 years old, but it still works great. Has bluetooth too.

Nokia 6822 flip out keypad

Never had been a Nokia fan, I actually came upon the phone when I broke my Motorola and a friend had a spare phone laying around.

Its not flashy, the resolution on the screen doesnt scream beautiful, no fancy bells and whistles of todays 'modern' phone; but it does lay along the lines of KISS (Keep it simple stupid)

The MAIN reason I used this phone, kept it, and actually bought another (when my son wanted to wash it with the dishes, gotta love 2 year olds....) is the flip out keypad. Were I worked I couldn't talk on my cellphone, but I could always slip time to send a text. This phone is probably the fastest phone to text on! The buttons are large enough, my large fingers dont push the wrong letters all the time.

It catches everybodies eye because of its unique design, the phones ability to turn and open up, the screen rotating when you open up the phone. Its small, much less bulky then those 'book open' phones. My friends get jealous when I can return 3 of their text messages before their done double tapping and triple tapping their number pad to make texts. If your into simplicity and need a great text message phone, then this is it!

Also the great price. Most phones if you want to get a replacement from your local retail shop dont even start at under 200 for their basic plain phones. The average on ebay is around 100ish brand new!

Battery life is great. Its simplicity allows the battery to last a long time. Compared to what I observe with my friends phones, I would say it lasts twice as long as theirs, and I use it alot.

Its extremely durable. I must be a butterfinger cause I constantly am dropping it. On a scale of 1-10 on durability its a 10!

Basics for high school kids

I have a son who is entering high school next year. Like most kids at this age, he already had an iPod touch that we got him last Xmas for games and music. He has been wanting one for years now but we just couldn't afford it then but because he did so well in school, we bit the bullet and got him a brand new one.

I tried giving him my old treo 650 as an all-in-one device but it was a pain to sync and socially, he couldn't play with all his other friends who has iPods. We thought about an iPhone but this is New York and kids holding iPhones in the subway is Not advised. You also have to consider the costs. AT&T charges a lot of money now for a data plan etc. That costs $60 a month. NO WAY!

So the final conclusion was to look for a phone that allowed texting. AT&T has a separate texting plan for $5 a month. So for a family plan, his cost will now be $20 a month. Texting on a regular phone is a nightmare and a half. I fear that pushing a button multiple times to get a letter is a caveman's way before the wheel was invented and could cause physical damage by the time he enters college -- not good. He needed a full keyboard.

Years ago, I had a Nokia 6800. Great phone and loved how it opened up. Its only setback was that it was slow for Internet access compared to the iPhone. But he doesnt need to surf on a non-wifi environment. His iPod touch does that. I went online to try to find that phone again and to my surprise, the newer generation was available.

He now has the best of both

Nokia 6822b

Great cell phone, durable, flips open for easy texting, small in size, phone has a keypad hence no touch screen errors, unlocked and affordable! It appears 6822b has no dollar, UK pound or Euro button which is only negative feature assuming it was made for Mexican market. Next phone will be 6822a.Read full review...

rare find

Nokia only made the original model, the 6820, & the replacement, the 6822 for a few years. It was a completely unique design that's never been duplicated. I had
one for a while years ago, but this was my sister's birthday present who even has the car kit in her car for this phone but after so many years it needed to be replaced. Buying a used one would probably be in no better shape then hers.
To find the newer model, the 6822, brand new was shocking. The phone was made in
2005. Even more shocking that unlike the 6820 that it's replacing it was never made for AT&T, so I've never seen one with both of the U.S. GSM bands before. Made in Finland, every one I've ever found had the 2 international bands & only 1 of the U.S. bands. To find the newer model 6822 brand new, & it being the one with both of the U.S. GSM bands in it when I just happened to be looking for it is next to impossible. To spend $100.00 for a brand new phone that just can't be
bought anywhere else is special, considering a used one at $50.00 or so could be
in worse shape then the one it's replacing. Like finding a 6 year old model car
that's still at the dealer and never been sold. Truly unique.

Great Phone for Text Messaging!

This phone is incredibly practical. I love the fact that it looks and functions like an old school candybar phone. Then it flips open to acess the full QWERTY keyboard.
The Bad. Becaue of the way the keyboard is devided when opened, it takes a day or two to get used to the feeling of texing. After that, you'll text like the wind.Read full review...
