Fast sleek and easy to use, however its battery life is relativly poor

Nokia Lumia 800, I first saw one at work when one of my colleagues showed it to me, immediately I was impressed by its ease of use and (dare I say it) how pretty it looked

My old phone was on its last legs, a windows mobile device running on an Eten Glofiish, despite it being clunky and blocky it got the job done. I was in the need for another Smartphone

I dismissed apple straight away for personal and technical reasons, I don’t like their philosophy of overcharging for underspecced products and their IOS is locked down so tight you cannot do what you want/need to do on it. So I thought of Android and the Samsung Galaxy as well as the Nokia Lumia range.

Everyone has a galaxy so I wanted something different, I wanted a Lumia. So I got one. 3 months on I haven’t regretted the decision. The Metro interface is sleek, quick and easy to use and I can get from one part of the phone to any other really quickly. For touch screen devices it really works. There is a nice range of apps available and the phones integration with Gmail and facebook make managing contacts easy. Did i mention is so easy to use even my grandmother had a play!

I only have 2 negative things to say about this phone, 1 the battery life leaves little to be desired, it seems to be sitting on charge a lot, however my previous phone went a week without charging so maybe i'm biased.

2. 3rd party Apps cause the phone to lock up sometimes needing a factory reset, this is partially negated by the fact that you can sync your contacts back easily and its simple to sync your pictures and movies to your PC so you don’t loose anything but its annoying having to download all your apps again. Fortunately the wireless connectivity is really good and I just get them downloading from my internet connection without too much trouble.

Excellent phone at amazing price

I bought this phone because I liked the look of it and I've always loved Nokia phones. The phone looks superb and the screen is amazing. Many people comment on how classy it is. I love the way it's so simple to set up and use - my numbers and emails from my old phone and other accounts were imported within minutes. People have criticized the battery life and the flap you open to charge it, but neither of these issues are a problem: battery life is fine and the flap is simple to use. You could argue that the apps market is minute compared to IOS and Android, but it's constantly improving and there are a hell of a lot of great apps! I prefer the Lumia to my old iPhone but it's a question of personal choice really. Compared to many other smartphones, you can pick one of these up really cheap - what are you waiting for?Read full review...

Everything I hoped for in a Windows phone - especially not being an iPhone!

Have had a preference for Windows based phones since I was given a Palm Treo at work six years ago. This is the first time I've had a purely touchscreen phone and I was apprehensive - shouldn't have worried, it's brilliant!

The screen is big enough for comfortable web browsing and I also use it for a Kindle e-reader.

I've been impressed with the way its software can correct typing errors by working out what button you must have been aiming for. The speech to text facility is one of the most accurate I've ever used - certainly on a par with Dragon Naturally Speaking. The ability for it to read your emails to you is helpful too - and causes quite a lot of amusement in the office.

The built in GPS is adequate and a useful back up for my TomTom in the car. The ability to mimic a WiFi point makes linking my laptop to use the internet childs play and with Virgin I get internet speeds comparable to what some people get at home (1-2Mbps) - quite acceptable.

The camera gives very good quality pictures and is easy to use - even having a flash for pictures when the light fails.

Oh, and it also makes good clear phonecalls!

Cool slick and very easy to use

Easy to use although I don't think it's worth the price it's very easy to access different apps straight off unlock instead of scrolling through you just slide up and down and has settings to have bright or dark setting and small and large text easy touch screen to textRead full review...

Great product, disappointing reliability

The phone itself has met my expectations in that it is fast and easy to use. Although not as numerous as Andriod or Apple, the phone apps are sufficent both in terms of quality and usefulness. The battery life is below average as the phone struggles to last the day even on average usage. Again this is the norm for most smart phones so nothing really negative here. The phone itself is great value for money as it provides a great overall smart phone experience at almost half of the cost of the top level Apple or Andriod phones.

My main problem with the phone and the reason for the 3 stars is that I have had it for less than a month and I woke up one morning to find the phone dead and unable to re-charge. This has now been sent back to Nokia for repair. Maybe I've been unlucky but I've used Nokia phones for over 15 years and this is the first phone to fail. It would appear that the Nokia hardware standards are slipping along with the Nokia share price.

In the context of the business is convenient Nokia lumia than iPhone.

I love windows phone, design is cool. Like a windows8 taste. It's very convenience for me because I am windows user. windows phone is able to link to windows live account very easy, I can check any account quickly. And I can open Microsoft Office data file. But types of windows phone applications is very few.
Most applications are only for Android or iPhone. It is not very good convenience only. And Nonkia products are not selling in Japan. Therefore Japanese Nokia fan to buy Nokia products at any other countries.

Product OK, once you get used to it.

Bought this phone as wanted to move into the 21st century and wanted a phone with a good camera. Easy to use, once you get used to it. Headphones should come with a button that you can change channels on radio and switch songs on MP3 option (as per Nokia X3). Battery life is not very good - have to charge 3 or 4 times a day - even when phone not in use.Read full review...

Good phone, easy to use wit great features.

Thought it about time to try a smartphone, but mostly need a phone with a torch and e-mail, without being tied to any particular system. Have not been disappointed with the 800 and was able to stick with rather historic but cheap tarrif.

Have tried a few apps and am particulary pleased with the maps and sat-nav. Apparently there are not as many apps as with other systems but more than enough for me!

All in all best phone that I have had!!!

Nice phone. Look smart. Easy to use.

Very nice phone looks smart and easy to set up and use, however the battery life isn't very good and doesn't even last a day therefore the features aren't very beneficial because they waste valuable battery time. Overall it is a nice phone but could be improved.Read full review...

Fantastic phone for great price!

This is fantastic phone! I bought the first one for my son and while we had a short holiday abroad, he used it and connected without any problems to the local wifi.
The phone is very 'simple' to use if we talk about the features, has got many applications and I just love Nokia Drive system as I travel quite a lot.
I honestly recommend this phone. It is worth to buy it and will never change for Iphone.
