A CLASSIC MOVIE ALL SHOULD SEE

This movie is one of my all time favorites. I have watched it multiple times alone and with family and friends. I never tire of seeing it again and some have actually requested a rerun. It is classic Alfred Hitchcock and ranks up there with the likes of Casablanca and The African Queen. There is mystery and excitement along with inrugue. All of the actors ar superb. It thoroughly entertains without the blood and guts, violence and graphic sex and language featured in so many of today's feature films. A very real family classic. DBRead full review...

A Hitchcock film for everybody.

N by NW is a classic, well written and superbly shot film. The only thing I noticed is: If I didn't know it was a Hitchcock film, I would never know. It seems he changed a lot of his style in this picture. Not sure if he used a different Director of Photography or a different producer, but it just seemed really simple for how great of a director he is.

Other than that, it is a wonderful chase/spy caper and the time period is so much fun. Very classy wardrobe, props, etc. And of course the on-screen sexual tension between Grant and Eve Marie Saint is soooo far ahead of its time, but very well acted! WWII spies, suave, handome men, lovely women and mistaken identity make for a great movie experience.

Cary Grant is so smooth in this part you are immediately pulled along with him deeper and deeper into the plot. A "must have" in any movie goer's collection.

Exceeded Expectations!

First off, Cary Grant is his usual fantastic self in this film. Plus, Alfred Hitchcock once again proves himself well before his cinematic time. While many other movies from that era tended toward poor cinematography, cheesy acting, and lousy special effects, North By Northwest is obviously well ahead of the pack. The Mount Rushmore climax could have been cheap as all get-out, but I actually believed the entire scene. I just wonder what amazing films Hitchcock would be producing if he were still alive, in business, and had today's filmmaking technology at his disposal.Read full review...
