One of the best film point and shoots!

With a new battery, this little guy will last me a long time I feel. It's a great introduction (or re-introduction for some) to analogue cameras, it's a great point and shoot with good zoom capabilities. Also has options for either fully automatic or some manual settings, which I appreciate in a camera. Only note is that you have to be careful and really listen to the faint "click" that indicates the picture has been taken, as sometimes the button won't take the picture so you'll have to do it again, but sometimes it does and without a recognizable shutter sound, others using my camera will accidentally take 2 or 3 photos completely unaware. There's options for no-flash, flash, flash with red-eye reduction, and low-light, all of which are useful. Haven't developed my rolls yet so I have yet to see how well the red-eye reduction works. The all-weather capability is great, as I don't have to worry about a bit of rain, but when bringing it to the beach I still keep it in a plastic bag to avoid sand in crevices. Read full review...

Cameras focus doesn’t work

The cameras focus isn’t working, kind of disappointed.
I added some pictures I developed to show that it doesn’t focus

Amazing Value in a Weatherproof 35mm Autofocus Camera!

This is one of the last quality point and shoot 35mm cameras made in quantity by a major camera firm. The aspheric lens design allows for a fantastic zoom range, the auto-focus is fairly fast, and there is some provision for exposure override. The camera requires DX coded 35mm film cartridges to work, otherwise all films are rated at an exposure index of ASA 100.

The flash has red eye reduction and can be used with an infrared remote control. If that isn't enough, the design is weatherproof. Not capable of shooting underwater, but the camera functions just fine in the driving rain of a Northwest Washington Autumn and Winter. Just remember to carry a fresh battery with you at all times, as the battery gives little or no warning before failing. On average one can expect shooting ten to fifteen rolls of 24 exposure film on a battery. Metering is not TTL (through the lens), so there is no practical means to fit filters to the camera and properly expose a shot.

The clamshell design takes time to adapt to, but once learned, shooting is fast and simple. As with all autofocus cameras there is a delay between focus lock and shooting. This can result in blurred images, especially if chasing children or small animals. This camera is best used with 200/400 ASA or faster film, save in very bright light. The auto exposure is accurate under virtually all conditions, and a one or two stop override is possible.

This is a superb camera for travel or casual shooting. It allows the photographer to focus on getting the shot right the first time. The diopter adjustment in the viewfinder is a very nice touch.

I bought my first Olympus mju ii Weatherproof Zoom a year ago, and have purchased seven since then. They are a true bargain, capable of fine images under most conditions. shoot b&w as well as colour. Whenever I am outside, I have one of these in my backpack, ready for use. Some days I carry two, one loaded with color print film, the other with 400 speed b&w surveillance film. This piece of kit is superb, and it is doubtful such a camera will ever be produced again, so buy one while you still can. There is a tiny watch fob sized remote available as well, so the camera can be fired from a distance.

One Of The Best In Quality Film Zoom Point And Shoot Cameras

I must state up front that I use this camera with “Black And White” film only. When I am traveling around I will take this camera with me take pictures of things with the intent of coming back later with another camera to take a more serious photograph. This camera takes very good shots and the zoom and panoramic options are great.

Just a note… I have several of these cameras with different zoom lengths and one thing is the same… Sometimes when turning off the camera the lens does not always retract all the way, so when closing the lens cover it will scrape across he lens barrel putting some small shavings on the lens surface. I always make sure that the barrel has retracted all the way before sliding the door over.

Great little point and shoot camera.

I was looking for a small light film camera to carry with me when I didn't want to lug around the SRL system. This year I am only using film. I picked up this camera (mine is not the deluxe though). It has a fantastic zoom. The all auto camera is so nice for snapshots. Haven't got the first roll developed but I'm sure the shots I got will be fine. I liked it so much that I got my husband the Deluxe version! Great little camera with a lot of functions in such a small package.Read full review...

Great Camera!

Love it! Didn't expect it to come with batteries, but it did! Really clean, just a few scratches. Works like a charm, tested it with 4 rolls of film so far and I'm very happy with the results

Simple

This camera is so simple to use and the pictures come out so clear. I love all the automatic features that this camera has to offer. I never have to sit there and mess with the focus anymore.

Another Olympus Won

I have won 3 Olympus cameras this week and now own 5 of my own, 2 are going to be gifts to people who I know will enjoy them too. I have always had wonderful success with Olympus cameras and look forward to more with my new purchases.

I purchased this easy-to-use camera for my new bride so she will accompany me when I am out taking pictures of eagles nesting and Iguana's in Southwest Florida and nature in general. Many thanks for the opportunity to bid on this camera.
