The oppo player can be best described as an excellent value as al in one audio video unit. To get the best performance one Must upgrade power cord and use xlr connection. I recommend Morrow Audio MP3 power cord and level 7 XLR audio cable. If upgrade is done the unit becomes equal to some of the best stand alone cd players. Set-up isn't intuitive but the supplied manual is excellent. I'm using primarily for it's audio capabilities and have not been disappointed. It took me some time to figure out that speaker frequency management applies to multichannel SACD and DVD audio only. And this is not a big deal, because the unit is just a wonderful quality machine!
