The oppo player can be best described as an excellent value as al in one audio video unit. To get the best performance one Must upgrade power cord and use xlr connection. I recommend Morrow Audio MP3 power cord and level 7 XLR audio cable. If upgrade is done the unit becomes equal to some of the best stand alone cd players. Great sound

Set-up isn't intuitive but the supplied manual is excellent. I'm using primarily for it's audio capabilities and have not been disappointed. It took me some time to figure out that speaker frequency management applies to multichannel SACD and DVD audio only. And this is not a big deal, because the unit is just a wonderful quality machine! A massive video improvement: absolutely worth the money.

Product: Almost incredible improvement in video quality. Deeper blacks, more accurate and detailed skin tones, and very impressive in action sequences. I plan to buy this upgrade for every Oppo I purchase.

Assembly: My one complaint is that the instructions do not make clear just how many layers of components must be removed inside the Oppo before you get the piece you actually modify. In fact, there are two boards that I was apprehensive about removing (what if it disconnect this incorrectly, etc.) that the instructions do not mention. Given the stellar reviews for this product, I thought that it must be simple enough to remove and replace them – and it was – but the instructions would be more helpful if they made the entire process transparent and obvious.Read full review...
