A decent early generation Blu-ray player

The player pre-dates the Federal anti-piracy mandate that eliminated component (red/blue/green) and composite interlaced video outputs. It is valuable in that context for use with older TVs that lack HDMI. Image quality is good with both Blu-ray and upscaled standard DVDs. It will also upsample standard redbook CDs to 96khz/24 bit. Although slow to load, it will also play the new Blu-ray audio only format at the native 96khz/24bit rate. There is no SACD or DVD Audio capability - a minor or non-issue for most users.Read full review...

Panasonic All the Way

This is my first blu-ray player. I have two Panasonic televsion sets and have to say my favorite feature is the quality of the sound.
This blu-ray player is easy to use, with a timer so you know to the minute where you are in the movie. Picture quality is very good. I wanted a reliable, easy to use DVD player and this is it! Read full review...

Great for bluray discs, OK for NetFLix, but beware Viera features....

I bought this because I was VERY disappointed with the Viera internet TV as implemented on my LCD. You cannot select new 'channels' and the set comes with Napster as a preselected choice. Nice...they're out of business, I have wasted channel that I can't change. So...the manual makes you believe the DMP-DB65 will give you that option. Not so.

You cannot select your own 'channels' with the internet television feature on the blu ray either. More channels, no choices.

If all you care about is streaming NetFLix, this would be just fine. If you want to watch Revision 3 or any other personal choice...nope.

The blu-ray boots wicked fast, plays great, the linking with my Panasonic TV is seemless.

If you want to control from your iPad...nope. I can't get that to work either. Panasonic has really dissappointed with "Viera".

Solid Blu Ray Player

Like everything about the product. Excellent video. Fast to start. Since this was a refurbished unit I am hoping it continues to please.
I knocked it down a star because when I got it it rattled like something was broken. I had to open the unit up to discover two pieces of broken metal about the size of a nickel and quarter were inside. They were not part of the player, in fact one piece was marked TDK.Read full review...

Very good pre-Cinavia DVD player

Bought it to play DVDs only, not Blu-rays. Got one with an older firmware that pre-dates Cinavia. For an 8yr old player, it’s still fast enough to load and video is very good.

Panasonic makes a good Blu-ray product

I have both a DMP-BD60 and this BD65. both are virtually identical in capabilities except that the 65 had Netflix. I have not tried the Netflix capabilities, but I have used the Amazon video service on both units, and it works very well on my 3Mbit broadband connection.
The BD65 starts rapidly and has an excellent picture. Setup is easy, and there is a significant amount of adjust-ability available. This player has a wired network connection, and I have heard that it has the ability to hook to a separate wireless device to get wireless ability. The wired connection is easy to set up and use and has caused me no difficulty.

I would recommend this player as a reasonably priced, feature rich unit.

Best Buy and Best one yet

I've owned a couple of bluray players and for the price and features the Panasonic player offers, hands down it's the best one I've had so far. It's "Veracast" interface has all the standard functions you'd want on the java side of a bluray player. It's got all your favorites like Neflix, pandora radio, you-tube etc................Via it's firmware updates it is constantly adding more entertainment. As far as the bluray disc player? It's load times are fairly quick, picture quality is awesome and it supports all standard audios. It's also light weight and compact making it easy to fit anywhere in your entertainment rack.

My advice? Buy it if you want the best bang for your buck.

Wonderful Internet options, great playback, awesome price! Great value!

Really do love this machine. I replaced an older, first gen blue-ray that was having issues playing discs and selected this model because of its price and networking capabilities.

I have mine hard-wired as our family doesn't believe in wifi (cancerous as heck), so my connection speed is solid. The networking screen can be a little slow at times, but the features between Youtube, Amazon, Netflix and others is great. The selctions change from time-to-time as they must be finding new partners, but I look at that as a bonus.

I would argue this does a better job of streaming than my PS3, although I'm not really sure why.

Very nice machine. Very happy with this purchase.

Panasonic DMP-BD65

I owned the BD 60 and it was decent but very slow loading. The 65 is much faster loading basically the same inequality and has been very reliable. Some of the newer Blu-ray players are Way too expensive, and don't have the same connection features I like.Read full review...

Great entry level Blu ray Player for a reasonable price

This is a great entry level blu ray player for home use. Does not play discs from other regions though. Very easy to hook up. Can connect to internet and download patches and blu ray info. Image quality fantastic for a 1080p TV.Read full review...
