A basic camcorder that offers good value.

I bought the Panasonic PV-GS9 while on vacation last year. It was a last minute decision based on the necessity to replace my old malfunctioning Sony Handycam. The Panasonic felt good in my hand and the controls were fairly easy to learn. By the end of that vacation my Panasonic seemed like I had owned it for years. Those viewing my vacation videos commented on the excellent sound quality of the recordings and the crisp picture. I love the easy to use menu on the flip out side screen and the powerful 20X optical zoom. Keep in mind that this camera, while a good value, does not have all the bells and whistles of the more expensive Panasonic models. The lack of a remote control is a minor inconvenience when playing back tapes on TV, but at least the controls on the camera are easy to understand and use (with a little practice). Overall, I would recommend the Panasonic PV-GS9 to anyone wanting a good, reliable, low-priced camcorder. I have owned many Panasonic devices and have found them to be very trouble-free. Panasonic PV-GS9

I am use to the expensive sony vx2000 i have and this camera does not have as many features but is still a great mini dv camcorder. I was sad to realize that this was going to be my capture camera and I wish I had bought it a long time ago. I will deffinitly use it for some second angles!Read full review...

Great Little Camcorder

The Panasonic PV-GS9 is very compact and easy to use. I bought it to replace an older version. It uses the same battery and connections as my older recorder. The battery life gives you well over 60 minutes on recording time.

Great camera

Very easy to operate. Has a lot of features that I won't use but soemone who likes to play with their vidoes would enjoy the stuff. It took excellent quality video and sound.

An unhappy customer

My first experience with the Panasonic was good. It taped well and when I proceeded to make a DVD, I noticed the sound started cutting out periodically. So I took the tape and put it in another camcorder I purchased on ebay and the tape worked fine and I got my DVD made successfully.
The second time the camcorder was used, it taped well (picture was clear) but there was no audio. A friend taped the program of children singing for me and I really wanted to hear them so I was not happy with a video and no audio. So basically I have a camcorder that is useless. Panasonic Palmcorder

Excellent product; easy to use and handle and takes excellent videos. This product is basically dummy proof and great for family videos or videos of children's sports events.
