Excellent condition, great price!

We had one of these at work quite a few years ago. And we used it to transcribe recorded conversations which would then be translated from Spanish to English. This transcriber that I just ordered will be very useful for another such job. I am very familiar with the product, and am happy to have found one in such great shape at such a good price. It has excellent features, including the pedal, which makes the task at hand much easier.Read full review...

VERY Happy!!

Great machine and since they don't make them anymore, getting harder to find. This one came in an old box but brand new machine. No problems, very happy!!

Expensive, but it is well made. Earphone bads go bad over time and smells of chemicals.

This Panasonic transcriber records well, but not real well on CrO2 and Metal, which is common on vintage Panasonic recorders. Use Normal bias to ensure the recording is erased and recorded with proper sound volume. The unit is expensive, which may be due to its high-quality AC Bias recording circuitry and very good internal microphone pickup. This unit being discontinued years ago, and possibly 20 years of age now, the included headphones have degraded and mushy pads. The unit has that familiar PVC odor, which is common with Chinese-made electronics (they do not have the strict standards as in the USA and Japan; electronics made there are less carcinogenic). Too bad, it cannot be used with batteries, as no such power exists. Only AC plug! Speaker has good sound, so it is good for music playback. Good value? Probably not, but I would say that if you can find one for just $100, that is better because at launch it was probably twice that. Recommended? Yes, considering most voice recorders have weak internal microphone input, and are most likely DC bias, causing distorted annunciation. Four stars for this: Would be 5 if had longer lasting phones, could run on batteries, and free from formaldehyde, which is what this unit smells of out of the box.Read full review...

Gets the job done!

Good transcriber. A lot of nice features like back space control, tape speed and a few that I will never use (i.e. tone and VSC level ?). My only complaint is the visibility (or lack thereof) of the tape counter. I will probably get an angled stand to put it on so I can see the counter.Read full review...

Very Pleased

I purchased several of the transcriber machines as we use them for transcribing our pastor's messages. This is a volunteer ministry - we provide the machines to the volunteers to do the transcribing in their homes. They are blessed by God's word and others are able to read the messages on the internet. I was disappointed that the machine/s did not come with a headset but that shows that I did not check the description thoroughly enough before I ordered. The machines are very easy to use.Read full review...

Like this machine a lot

This is my second one, and I was very happy to have found it. The first one was quite old and used A LOT. Didn't think twice about replacing it with the same unit.

Coolest tape player ever? Maybe!

It has controls that let you alter the tape speed, the pitch, and much more. Its also seemingly very sturdy . they dont make em like this anymore.

Dependable, easy to use, wish there were more at cheaper prices

I have used these for several years. I like being to slow down the tape to be able to hear the words clearly. The footpedal makes transcription easy. We like to keep several on hand because they ARE getting older and sometimes need repair just any tape player.Read full review...

Just What I Needed!!

Received the Panasonic Cassette Transcriber. I placed a tape in right away and the mic was clear and precise with or without the head phones! Volume variability is sharp at low or high settings with tape speed variability working perfectly as well. This transcriber will be a joy to use, much like my days working in the law office. Can’t wait to get started. Read full review...
