A haunted house makes no secret of the fact it's not pleased with its new tenants in this independent tale of supernatural horror. Katie and Micah are a twentysomething couple who've just moved into a new home in San Diego, CA. Katie has an interest in the paranormal and believes that malevolent spirits have been following her since childhood, though Micah is not so easily convinced. However, after several nights of loud noises and strange happenings, Micah starts to agree with Katie that some sort of ghost may have followed them to the new home. After a paranormal researcher tells the couple he can't help them, Micah decides to take control of the situation and sets up a battery of video cameras so that if a spirit manifests itself, he can capture its behavior on tape. Once the surveillance cameras are in place, Katie and Micah bring in a Ouija board in an effort to talk to the spirits, a move that deeply offends the ghosts. The Title says it all

It only took a few minutes to determine this is one of those low budget, no name cast, films. I began to wait for the really bad make-up on silly people falling from closets.
I decided to turn it off while it was still interesting and before it got really stupid. Each time, however, I felt more and more drawn to the plot which failed to become silly or stupid.
In fact, this movie held me all the way to the end, even though the profanity was overdone to the point of being annoying.
Want a really scary movie that will hold you to it all the way through? This would be my first recommendation. Get this one and watch it just before going to bed. I've been sleeping, standing in the corner, with all the lights on, eyes wide open,for several days now.Read full review...

The Scariest Movie Ive Seen In Years

Being a horror fan all My life, I really dont get scared of them anymore like I used to. For years with the exception of The Blair Witch Project and Hostel, I just cant get that fear back that i had of horror in the 80s. But that changed with Paranormal Activity. Its considered a found footage movie much like Blair Witch. I know its not real, its the way its made to look real. PA is scary because it focuses on those sounds You hear at night that You cant explain, or those times when Youre alone and You hear every little sound. Paranormal Activity puts a face on all that. I know its inspired alot of found footage films, most of which arent scary. But this is the one to own. PA2 was good, but I wasnt as scared because they used an actress Im very familiar with (Sprague Grayden-Opies wife Donna from Sons Of Anarchy) In order to make these type of films work, You have to use nobodies that seem like real people. However i just saw PA3, and lets just say the fear has returned. DVD is in perfect condition and looks brand new. My thanks to the seller.Read full review...

Paranormal Activity with Katie Featherston Rock!!!!

Of course I like this kind of movie anyway. Poltergeist has always been one of my favorite movies but you still know you're watching a production movie made on a set. Of course, with Paranormal Activity, you still know you're watching a movie but it seems very real most of the time. The special effects are just enough to add to that realism and creepiness. Movies don't scare me like they used to but this one definitely makes you want to sleep with the lights on that night.

The main stars, Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat make you feel like you really are watching a couple in the privacy of their own home. This also adds to the realism, however, in my opinion, Katie Featherston fully deserves her Festival Trophy best actress award!!! She is fan-freaking-tastic! Also, she is quite the babe but of course that's just a side note. Her job in this movie is awesome.

Very frightening without all the gore

I've watched this film several times and it never fails to scare me! The "lack of" gore/violence makes it all the more frightening because of what you DON'T see!! Certainly not the BEST spooky movies I've watched but well worth the time!!Read full review...

Boooring

I had heard so many things about this movie being sooo.... scary that I was really excited to see it. I should've known better, though, because I don't really like these Paranormal Investigator TV Shows because I tend to think it's all fake. I had a friend who said her husband had to stop watching this movie halfway through because he got so scared. I, myself, nearly fell asleep and kept watching only hoping that at some point it would get scary. Maybe if I believed in ghosts or this sort of thing, I would've liked it better.

I think it's a good movie and am impressed with how they made it, it just didn't end up interesting me. So anyway, if you believe in ghosts and enjoy watching the TV shows of the paranormal stuff, you will probably like this movie. If you are like me and not particularly impressed with the stuff, you'll probably be bored, like I was. As they say "To each his own."Read full review...

Scare your pants off movie

This 2007 independent film (released October 14, 2007) stars Katie Featherston (Mutation) and Micah Sloat (No previous movie experience),

This very low budget film (Reported less than $15,000 to make the movie) grossed over $140 Million Dollars at the box office after receiving high praise at Screamfest Film Festival and Slamdance Film Festival.

The movie is very similar to the The Blair Witch Project in that it uses "found Footage" of a couple that were being haunted by a presence in their home.

This is one of the best Horror films that have ever been made and anyone who loves to be scared to death needs to watch this late at night with someone you can grab hold of to protect yourself.

A very interesting and great movie. Buy this one and keep your kids away from it unless you want them to have nightmares.Read full review...

Paranormal Activity 2009

This was a pretty awesome movie, however I must say we recently went to see part 2 in the theatre, and it was a whole lot better in my opinion, I will being buying that one for our collection as well so we have the set... I would suggest buying both movies together, as they follow the story line, and it is like you don't get the whole picture until you see both... Now when will part 3 come out ??? because they left part 2 wide open for that !!!Read full review...

My Thoughts on Paranormal activity.

It was not what I expected going by what a few of my friends were saying. A lot of my friends were saying how great it was and how scared they got from it. So I bought it with high hopes of a really scary movie. When I did watch it I found it boring and not scary at all. I was very disappointed. I was not expecting a you tube type movie either. I know my friends said it was supposed to be that way but I was wanting scary not home video that was not as scary as I heard or is written on the dvd case it self. I have seen paranormal tv shows that have scared me more, a lot more. A lot of my friends that know me really well were even surprised I watched it as I normally do not like scary movies and some were even surprised I did not find it scary.
