For the classic drummer not the double bass speed monster.

If your style is what is probably termed classic rock, country or jazz I would think this pedal is for you. If you're a metal guy who plays blazing double bass all the time it probably isn't. More control here than speed.
I owned an Axis longboard double pedal for about 10 minutes and hated it. All speed, no control.
I owned one of the original Pearl Eliminators 15 or so years ago but I replaced it with a DW9000 pedal within the last 10 years when I went to all DW9000 hardware. I now use it on the drums in my home studio.
The first thing I noticed when going to the new Pearl from the DW9000 is the pedal feel is lighter and I can control it better. The DW is chain driven and this one is a strap as is my old Pearl pedal so maybe that changes the feel.
I tried the beaters that came with this pedal but they had no thump. Once I installed the old red wooden beaters I've been using forever it made a big difference.Read full review...
