One disc works and one disc doesn't

The Peter Pan movie disc has a flaw in it somewhere. Once you get the dvd player to read the disc it is not a clear picture at all.So haven't been able to watch it. The bonus disc work well.

Disney Film Classics are a Treasure

So many times have their been "remakes" & "covers" in the film and music industry. Rarely are they reflective of the original genius and masterful presentation they offered. It's so easy for kids to be confused and disinterested due to the onslaught and temptation to reintroduce a body of work simply for the money generated off of the success of the original. This timeless classic has probably been forgotten and exploited heavily by the release of several versions that have hit the screen...... what a "crock"! I'll take the originals any day.... Kids have to have a foundation in the story and characters in order to understand and appreciate the story. Technology is a great thing, but when it devalues and decimates the "masters" then it's used in a shameful manner. Even Disney (today) has no conscience when it comes to how they value their treasure of classics...... Our kids are the ultimate "losers" when this is the protocol. Peter Pan Special Edition 2 disc Set

The new Platinum Edition Peter Pan DVD looks and sounds considerably different from the older versions. The animation has been enhanced, resulting in richer color and a clearer picture. The movie looks great, but it does lose some of the charm of the classic Disney animation.
I have never been a fan of DVD games and activities. The remote is an awkward tool to use for game playing, and I really don't want my kids playing with it anyway. The Sudoku Challenge with Mr. Smee is actually a pretty good game that engages kids' brains, though. The other games are typical DVD games that are not that exciting. I was impressed, however, with the read-a-long stories, including the subtitled version of the movie (also called a read-a-long on the DVD). The subtitles are really easy to read and attractive to look at, with the speaking character's picture next to the words. As subtitles help children learn to read, this feature is great for kids ages 3-7.
The "Backstage Disney" features in this movie really make this version special. The story of Tinker Bell is truly magical, and my kids even got to see what an old silent film looks like. Watching deleted scenes, performances of lost songs, and older versions of this classic movie is like going back in time, and I think that anyone who follows or is interested in Disney history or the animation process will appreciate the bonus features available on the Peter Pan Platinum Edition DVD.Read full review...

A classic

My 2 year old girl and 4 year old boy love this classic. It even inspired their Halloween costume choices this year. Interestingly, there is a bit more adult content than one would imagine, such as the lost boys constantly fist fighting, Captain Hook shooting one of his crew and Tinkerbell examining her large posterior in a mirror. ALL of which was completely over the heads of my kids. This was the first full length film my son would sit long enough to watch the whole thing, as well.
