Urushi Art Layer Peels Off Easily

The urushi art layer start peeling off on multiple sites once I started posting the pen. Then I realized the painting layer is not protected under any transparent layer; instead, they are more like stickers pasted on underlying urushi basepaint. I suspect these superficial art layer/stickers will survive normal wear and tear in several months. Although the artsy painting itself is quite elegant, it lacks the functionality of urushi art applied on a pen.
