Headphones dedicated to sound quality.
These Pioneer headphones are all about sound quality with. smooth deep bass and crystal piercing high notes. I'm a vintage audioholic listening mainly to my 1970s Pioneer spec system. I wanted to stay in the Pioneer family of products when I purchased new headphones. I think these headphones were designed for the vintage audiophile. With a clean bling free design the head phones are classy non complicated with devices for many other options. Spectacular Headphones
Fantastic headphones! This was my first foray into audiophile-grade headphones and I am not disappointed. The sound is clear and precise. The tone is flat, which is a great starting point to tweak your audio with enhancements. The bass drives effortlessly and the highs are bright. The included 3.5mm cable attaches cleanly with no wobble. They include a 2.5mm balanced cable as well, however I have not used it yet.
Comfort is at a premium here. They are adjustable and the soft leather-like cups stay in place and form an excellent seal without too much pressure. They can be worn for hours on end and will not give you a headache. The cord is a thick, soft silicone that doesn't pick up any sounds as it slides across your clothes. It attaches to the left side with a positive twist-lock. There is no mic or controls on the cord for smartphones, but for me, this is a plus. I feel like the more splices and terminations there are along the cord only decrease the quality of the sound.
The SE-MHR5 comes with a wonderful soft case made of neoprene. They fold easily into the case with room for both cords and even a music player. The packaging they came in is also top-notch.
Overall, I highly recommend these headphones for anyone who puts sound and clarity at the top of their priorities. I purchased them on Ebay brand-new for $89, though I have seen them as high as $299.Read full review...
