Pirates of the caribean is an extremely good franchise

I bought this dvd as part of a set the dvd quality was goodand the price was very good and the seller posted quickly and efficiently. Of course that this was the third installment of the only quality example of a disney ride based franchise didn't hurt. Usually something based on an amusement park attraction has no right to be good but the production was flawless in story, action, effects and casting Johny depp adeptly led a troop of strong performers on a tour deforce of the fifties style pirate adventure, going where only recent developments in cgi could take us. One of the most surprising things was unlike other movies the cgi was a vehicle but not the driver, this was a story driven epic, which often isn't the case.Read full review...

The Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End 2 - disc DVD set (2007)

I liked the packaging , found the movie itself to be more interesting than later films. Thought going back after Jack into Davey Jones' locker cool. The quality of the movie disc itself seemed to have a common freeze error at around 72 minutes into the film, requiring a hard skip over a few chapters just when things were really unfolding. Had bought a new copy back when the set first came our,got stuck at the same point as well. A suspected layer transitioning error. I would recommend trying the Blu - Ray instead, probably would at least play clear through.Read full review...

Brand new, still had plastic on it!!

I love the Pirates movies, so since I own the first two, I decided to buy the third one before I had seen it. I mean, you can't have the first two and not have the last one! However, I was a little disappointed about the storyline of this last one-- Kinda hard to follow, too much going on, there were so many new characters and themes. It just wasn't as exciting/entertaining/funny as the first two were. Maybe if I watch it another time I would understand it more.. But apparently I'm not the only one who had a hard time following the plot of the movie: the booklet inside the DVD actually had a Question/Answer section because the movie was so confusing!! Oh well. I guess they got caught up on the special effects (which were pretty cool) and forgot about developing a story. It was an ok movie, but I personally don't think it measured up to the first two at all. I was pretty disappointed. It coulda been so good!! :(Read full review...

Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End(2007)

This is the third and possibly the final installment for the Pirates Of The Caribbean series. Having been filmed back to back with the previous film, Dead Man's Chest, we pick up where we left off with the gang. Jack Sparrow has just been swallowed alive by the Kraken and the East India Trading Company has control over Davy Jones and his devices of torture. Tom Hollander reprises his roll as the menacing Lord Beckett who is attempting to wipe out any and all pirates, (film opens w a line up to the gallows). This time there's not as much explaining to do to follow along with. The final showdown may seem a little querky to the audience being that it's only between three ships out of several hundred, however the visual effects are dazzling and graphic. In this film, Bill Kighy, (Davy) and Naomie Harris, (Tia Lama) have a chance to really appeal to the audience with their relationship as well as having Bill switching back and forth from half human/half squid to an actual human in the effects department. The film also introduces an old pirate brethren hymn called, Hoist The Colours.Read full review...

Best of the trilogy by far!

This franchise never seems to disappoint and nothing has changed with the third installment of the trilogy.

From the evolution of Elisabeth Swann to the destiny of William Turner and the loveable pirate himself, Captain Jack Sparrow, this finale is visually amazing and contains the most exciting battle probably ever created on screen. Never a dull moment when Gore Verbinski and Jerry Bruckheimer team up.

An absolute must have!!!

A Pirates of the Caribbean fan.

Love the series. This is my favorite movie in the set. So naturally when my original copy (bought at a yard sale) got messed up, well I had to buy a new one right away. This copy was in excellent condition and arrived on time. I am very pleased. Thank you.Read full review...

Back To The Past

This is a rollicking movie, with a phenomenal soundtrack, often breathtaking cinematography, an action-laden script, and a delightfully tongue-firmly-in-cheek performance by Johnny Depp as Capt. Jack Sparrow. It is a bit longer than I expected, but that's not bad for an enjoyable viewing experience. The two-disk set limited edition has some wonderful bonus features, too--though one, "Bloopers of the Caribbean," seems to be missing. I couldn't find it anywhere on the DVD set I bought, at least.

Also be warned: if your DVD player is more than 5 years old, the feature film disk may not play properly on your DVD player. It may not play at all. According to the customer service folk at DisneyDVD.com/support, some of the code on the film's disk is too new for older DVD players to read. But the additional features disk plays just fine.

Normally, the 3rd film of a trilogy won't necessarily make sense without one's first having seen the other two, but this film does stand on its own. Still, seeing Pirates I and Pirates II will enhance one's appreciation of what otherwise would be incomprehensible inside jokes in Pirates III.

Piates Of The Caribbean

While I love Johnny Depp as the Character Jack Sparrow this continuing saga is just cliche' its still full of the swash buckling Piracy we all enjoy but the Characters have all lost the UMPff of the two previous movies I have got say say with much reluctance since I am such a fan of all the core Actors and Actress that this movie is tired and boring and the actors themselves "Parlay" this boredom very obviously throughout..its "ok" but not super duper and OH Please whats all the running back and forth, even the fantasy crabs taking the ship to the ocean scene ..way to Salvador Dali for me..Read full review...

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007,DVD)

This Movie Rocks!!! It is so well made and the actor's are fantastic!!! It takes you into another World. What a wonderful fantasy!!! The only thing I dislike about this Movie is I wanted to see more!!! I would like see a few more continued parts to this Movie. Why not do what Freddy or Friday the 13th did and go and make a part 1,2,3, and so on. Don't stop!!! I decided to buy this Movie due to I enjoy these actor's and plus Disney makes each Movie they put out so special. I Love to Shop with eBay. Thank-you eBay for making all this possible for us all.

Farewell Captain Jack Sparrow!

Since I work in a retail store I get alot of different views on this movie. Some people say that its wasn't that great and Others loved it. I dont wanna spoil this movie but if you have not seen it then you really should, its just as good as the other ones, if not better. The thing that upsets me is the fact they decided it was the last one in the trilogy but they ended it, leaving plenty of ways to continue the series. Thats the one thing I will say is Fast forward through the credits and watch the little surprise ending.

I know this may not be an awsome review, but if you liked the others pirate movies than you will love this one and want more!!
