Volcanic Action!

Saw this movie before I purchased the dvd. Period pieces are awesome. The costumes were semi authentic to the time in history. Special effects on this film are AWESOMELY preformed! Loved the earthquakes, tsunami, and the volcanic ash, clouds, lava, super heated air, and fire balls from the eurupting volcano of Pompeii. Kiefer Sutherland portrays a nasty Roman senator with wicked flair. Pleasantly surprised by this movie.

Entertaining. Good story, and characters. Good period film. B+

This was a good movie in my opinion. The characters were interesting, and the story was good. Kiefer Sutherland played a very convincing Roman. Special effects were as you would imagine, prevalent during the eruption scenes, which were acceptable, but nothing special. It is the characters, and the story which make this movie what it is. Acting was good, and as a period piece, this was a pretty well made movie. I would recommend it as above average, and entertaining.Read full review...

Ridiculous

Wannabe Mel Gibson. Fakey and unrealistic. Just not well directed. Pretty senseless at some points. Ill written and ill directed. Too many tiny drama flashes kill the suspense.
