An absolutely wonderful movie!

This is probably the cutest and sweetest story I have ever seen. The animation is among the most beautiful, while the music is deeply emotional and thrilling. Ponyo is an adventurous little goldfish who possesses the gift of healing, along with other more spectacular magic. Her love for the young boy Sosuke gives her the power to transform into a little girl and become his best friend. The scene with her running after Sosuke on the backs of giant fish in the ocean waves is the cutest and most delightful of any I have witnessed. The story of their love is both tender and joyful, while they both have loving parents who only want the best for them. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves beautiful animation and enchanting music, believes in the wonder and power of love, or has children who appreciate gentleness and joy.Read full review...

Ponyo

Let me start by saying that I am quite the anime fan. I own all of the Miyazaki films that have been adapted by Disney. As far as the vivid animation and awesome cast go Ponyo is up there with the best. I have a five year old daughter who absolutly loves this movie. If you have a little girl you must get this movie, if you don't have a little girl you must have one and get this movie. It is a wonderfully surreal adaptation of Hans Christian Andersens " The Little Mermaid " story presented beautifully as only Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli can. Ponyo

I love all of Hayao Miyazaki’s work. He creates masterpieces for all ages, Ponyo included. Ponyo is a master piece geared toward a younger audience with vivid colors and a touching story. It gets a little bit trippy at times but it’s not unlike Hayao. It is a constantly gripping story with slight touches of familiarity but an all together pleasant alien appeal. It is a must see for anyone but especially Miyazaki fans.Read full review...
