The best version ever

I knoe that the lead character isn't supposed to be beautiful, and who's prettier than Ms Knightly, but she plays her role perfectly, and with an excellent supporting cast. You won't want it to end.

To claim "Best picture of the year" is humbly an understatement!

How could one not love this movie? I saw it a few years ago on TV and have been watching it every time that it's aired since. The story takes the veiwer back to a time of gentry and common folk and sweeps it up into intrigue of love and dispair. The cast is excellent in potraying thier roles and the director cleverly blends in the scenery and music that time has lost. I now am happy to say that I have a copy...
Am I a true romance fanatic? Absolutely not!!! This is the ONLY romance DVD in my collection! I can't imagine parting with it! I bought one other version of this movie; and was very dissapointed to discover that I had purchased the wrong one! This version is excellent and potrays the characters beautifully!

Pride and Prejudice (2005) dvd

This is one of my favorite movies ever. The characters, plot, setting, and dialogue are perfect for the Jane Austen novel. It is extremely close to the book, and any liberties taken fit wonderfully.

Well done movie...for those who admire English drama

Purchased this video because it was featuring Keira Knightley, Judi Dench & Donald Sutherland. Enjoyed it greatly. The minor problem I had in this video, was that in scenes with mother & girls, they all gabbled at the same time, making it difficult to understand what they were saying. ENCHANTING !!

This is my favorite drama ever, & has been since the first time I saw it several years ago. Although it’s a drama there still is plenty of comedy & laughs. I've seen this movie at least 20 times and never get bored of it! I can't resist the reruns of it whenever I spot them on TV. I think it is a flawless movie and it is so believable it's like time traveling & secretly spying on true events as they happen. I can't say enough about the acting by EVERYONE in this movie, not even one bad performance. There are so many subtleties to the interactions between the characters. Mr. Darcy says so much and speaks volumes just with his eyes alone. As another reviewer had mentioned, I agree it's pretty much a 'chick flick' because as many times as I’ve seen it, my husband has fallen asleep on it an equal amount of times, he’s never watched it through to the end yet! This movie made me a Kiera Knightly fan & a Mathew Macfadyen fan. I’ve seen all the Pirate Movies Kiera has been in etc. Keira always seems to play strong, smart powerful,modern female roles no matter what time period her movies are set in. Lovely

I could go on and on about this movie. The actors couldn't have been chosen better for all of the rolls. Costumes and musical score both perfect. To say that it is beautifully filmed is an understatement. It all just blends together in a way that the viewer has to experience for themselves to really appreciate.
Keira Knightley and Mathew McFadden are just incredible together in every scene. It's a must see work of art. You will be so glad you did. Then I'd double dog dare ya not to watch it again. : )Read full review...
