Crumb's Vision Spot-On
Here is a wonderful collection, if but only a small sample, of Robert Crumb's visions of the music that he loves. Taken from earlier works of the Last Gasp people, from "Arcade#3" to "XYZComics", Robert takes you into the world of Charley Patton and Jelly Roll Morton, his own visions and rants about old and new music, topped with sprinkles of his comic book genius, which has made him the Greatest among all the underground artists. Consider this to be like an appetizer, but a VERY good one.Read full review...
Singin' The Blues
I purchased "R.Crumb Draws The Blues" for my husband's birthday to add to his "Blues" collection. My husband has been writing about Blues for 40 years and is currently the editor of Blueswax, a weekly e-zine devoted to the blues community. He loves the artwork in comic books, is a big fan of Robert Crumb and has several of Crumb's books in his library. Having a book with the artwork he loves about the music genre he loves by an artist/author he loves made for a terrific gift! He was thrilled with "R.Crumb Draws The Blues," it was one he had not seen (which is a miracle in itself!), and "When Papa's happy--Mama's happy!" (It makes life easier!.) I am thrilled with the purchase and with eBay for bringing the world's marketplace into my home where unique treasures can be found.Read full review...
