Great Budget Audio Interface
This is a great sounding audio interface, especially for the price. I produce and DJ house and techno, so clear audio is very important to me. This is excellent for producing and good for DJing. I have a NI audio interface via an S4 Kontrol Mk2, and this blows it away in terms of sound quality. However, at super low latencies (under 10ms) there are a few buffer drops. I'm not a scratch DJ so this doesn't really matter to me, but the NI Kontrol interface can get under 5ms with no drops. I have an i7 4790k so I'm sure it's not CPU limited. I have not looked into possible optimizations so there may be some additional room for improvement.
Setup is not super simple as you have to set up your routing within the Scarlett software, but after you've set it up you don't need to touch it again if you have a static setup. Also, only the right headphone jack can work as an independent monitor. There is no way to change the first headphone jack to be anything but a master monitor. Not a huge deal, but something to be aware of when you're setting up. Searching on the internet confirms this but I don't think this is officially documented from Focusrite.
Overall I'm very happy with the interface, the latency could be better but it works perfectly at 15ms with no drops. Audio quality is excellent, and the price is very good.Read full review...

Software/driver issues.
Using software for 6i6 from Focusrite website, but will only work on one of my machines. Crashes the other two. I’ve been using Focusrite for a long time (8i6 and 18i8, also OctoPre) but there is clearly some issue with this driver/software, even when I uninstall all other sound card drivers and do a clean install. I’m using windows 10, on an HP pavilion6 and a Dell laptop. This B3 stock 6i6 I purchased is the only one I’ve had problems with.
It will not work at all. It crashes the machine without using it in conjunction with any programs, just as a hardware external sound card. There is no sound, and when I go into the Scarlett MixControl program or try to adjust the audio source sample rates or test the sound card as an audio source in Windows settings, I get a screen with white noise on it in the computer has crashed.
I’ve tried using different legacy software, to no avail.

Professional quality, no noise.
Pros:
Two headphone output with high quality headphone amps. You can turn them up all the way and no noise.
Microphone preamps are also noiseless, all the gain is usable. High quality build also but headphone volume knobs can be tricky because your fingers hit the edge of the case and the knobs are smooth.
Cons:
Drivers need to be updated more often but the old one seems to work in Windows 10. Control panel has a LOT of options and can be confusing for a beginner. Just getting the correct source to your headphones takes some skill. Use the save preset feature for common setups to save some fiddling. Requires a power plug, I really miss the version that was powered by USB but this one does sound better and has two headphone jacks.Read full review...

Great build with tons of features
Build quality is just superb. Comes in a closed aluminum housing. Nobs have a smooth but strong feel. It is fully compatible with my windows 10 PC. Once you register, you have immediate access to Ableton Live and great sounding plugins.
I have recorded my electro-accoustic guitar and my voice using a Senheisser e945 microphone. And sound capture is of very high quality. I have not fully exploited its features but is a good investment if you want to set up a decent home studio and have some room for growth.Read full review...

Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 is an Excellent Interface for my iMac. Works perfectly with phantom power studio mic.
Good channel separation, phantom power 48V for studio mic, and all the inputs necessary for a two mic studio setup. I really like the volume adjustments. No distortion, or fuzziness. My previous interface was a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24. I ended up selling all of my old equipment for personal reasons.
My previous computer was a huge desktop which was very heavy; it had a Firewire card; But I wanted to rebuild;
and thus create a more robust and mobile studio setup. I ended up purchasing a laptop which only had two USB ports.
After doing a lot of research using many factors including portability; build quality, and my actual needs, I settled for this sound card the Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 1st Generation. In my opinion the best version to get is the first generation.
The 2nd generation of this model features a similar latency clock time; and a higher resolution; but the trade off is the rear line inputs and outputs are of the "Floating" variety which are not as sturdy as the "Reinforced" variety which you get in the first generation model. Besides you will almost never record at 192KHZ
First off; This is a refurbished product; therefore it did not arrive packaged in the original factory packaging. No big deal. Definitely not a deal breaker. The product was shipped in a box which provided ample protection, and the unit arrived in perfect condition. As Usual the build quality is Amazing!
My previous Soundcard; The Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 had a Solid PLASTIC face. While the build quality was decent; It absolutely does not compare to the quality of this interface. The metal is THICK and very solid; The front face is recessed and it is metal as well, The knobs are made of plastic; but they are nice, and feel very sturdy; My previous interface had only one headphone output, so it's really nice to have an interface with two headphone outputs.
I really appreciate having a dedicated power switch as well.
What I enjoy most about Focusrite cards; besides the quality; is the software that is included;

This item is solid. This model has it's own power adapter to bolster it's capabilities. I love the look and feel of this. The seller has done a great job at quality control. I use the Scarlet 6i6 for my audiophile setup. Plugging my turntable into the front inputs allows for optimum record playing/ripping.
The 6i6 is the best version I have used so far. Previously owning the 2i4, the 6i6 is more versatile and has phantom power. It even has a power switch.
