Rango is a kids movie that grown-up can enjoy

This movie has everything for everybody. It has A list celebrities and humorous dialogue for adults. There are wonderful stop motion type animation and an engaging plot for the kids. A range of side stories and popular culture references for entertainment value. Even the dog liked it! Follow Rango, a domesticated lizard through an adventure through the desert where he learns that life can be hard. It's does not get too serious but the story line digs deep and comes up big. This movie mixes drama comedy action adventure and a wild Western theme to becomes a family movie you will enjoy.Read full review...

Movie trailers LIE!

It's hard to rate this "movie". I bought it because the trailer I saw at the beginning of another movie of mine played Rango and it was FUNNY!! BUT...That's ALL that was funny. Of course, that's how they CON you into either going to the theatre or buying the DVD! I was sitting here thinking WHY did I buy this! Lol. I would not recommend wasting your money on this one! I just wouldn't! Glad I only paid a couple of bucks for it!!! Lol.Read full review...

This is like a Clint Eastwood Western with a cool CGI Clint Eastwood dude.

At 70-years-of-age, I like original air-brushed animation of early 1940s Disney and Warner’s color cartoon characters, yet in recent years, dozens of excellent pixar type and CGI type animated films hit the big screen. I love Rango. This character, a chameleon that many here commented that this should have been for adults only. My complaint regarding this film is about the sexual shape of the noses of the 3 mole outlaws and others who lived under ground in the closed mine shaft and came to town to rob the bank where the last of the town's water is being horded by the Mayor. So Rango, whose mind is in as many directions as his eyes are, looks at the three criminals emerge from the earth after digging their way into town, and Rango tells them that if they are going to explore a mine, then they need a permit. Now, I noticed this right away and then after I pointed out what I saw to others who also had seen the film or called me back after they had seen the film, noticed, as I did, that the noses on the dirt digging bank robbing moles actually resembled, what appears to look exactly like an 80 to 90-year-old-timers uncircumcised 'penis.'

As someone who has a few thousand personal DVD's and also about 3000 VHS tapes of films and have seen more than 12,000 movies in my lifetime, Rango is great animation, great story telling and is a great adventure. I have two more animated films I would like to recommend to viewers. One such film is "Delgo (from Spain?" The 2nd cool animated film is called, "The Snurks." a time travel film where the heroes and some creepy characters who later become friends, end up on earth where they need to stop a creepy animated character from destroying their world as well as Earth. I liked Hoodwinked, and Steam boy. The latter version I have is the Thai Bootleg copy and then the American released version. The subtitles in the Thai version are in English, Thai, Chinese and other languages from that part of the world. So the English speaking characters speak most of the text of the script while the subtitles say something completely different. For instance, in the Thai Version, Steam boy uses the F--- word on dozens of occasions, yet in the American version, he never swears except for a damn or two. I like Jimmy Neutron, The Roger Rabbit Deluxe edition with the feature length film with original Roger Rabbit opening cartoon in icebox with singing stars instead of birds, and then they also presented the other five Roger Rabbit cartoons, including the one used to open the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" (I think the 2nd film). I also liked the Incredibles, Monster House, Ratatouille, Over the Hedge, Flushed Away, and I love all three of the “Ice Age” animated films, And of course, "Happy Feet", haven’t seen the sequel. Arthur and the Invisibles 1-3 were also pretty well made. “Over the Edge,” well I loved the possums and the giant dog who leaps from his doghouse into the air and freezes his face "Kung Fu Panda" acupuncture style, as the dog with the frozen face lets out a frozen face look towards the audience while smiling frozen in place as he says, "PLAY?" As a kid, Mighty Mouse was my favorite cartoon at the Saturday matinee. He had two different suits due to two different artists over the years and they are hard to find. The original Max Fliesher Superman air-brushed series of cartoons, usually available at cheap prices, and of course the 2 most popular Popeye cartoons, Ali Baba & Sinbad. mjshroomer

RANGO

I am not a fan of cartoons for my large collection ( I have maybe 5 ) . But this is great . This has a little bit of violence so not quite a children's film . Johnny depp is probably the only person who could do this voice so well !
he fits the part just like captain jack sparrow does
