Rant-Ian Hunter CD 2001

As a long time fan of Ian Hunter, I found this CD with wonderfully poignant lyrics and music that is just a grand as Ian's "Mott The Hoople " days. "Still Love Rock And Roll" is a tribute to the salad days of Mott The Hoople and I loved every minute of it." Wash Us Away" is a look back in to the past, the start of a rock in roller and the feelings of that moment. "Death of A Nation"and "Rip Off" are songs that speak of a present filled with lost and broken promises, faded glory, and lost hope. "Morons" and "Purgatory" speak of the hopeless future from the view of a 60 year old Rock and Roller thats seen it all.

Ian Hunter has aged with a grace that few of the greats of my generation can hope to reach. The lyrics in this CD are on a par with and perhaps even exceed the depth and emoition of Bob Dylan. While many greats are playing the same old tired songs on the senior curcit, This CD shows how Ian Hunter has still grown, matured, and evloved as a musian and a man.

Like old times

I lost track of Ian Hunter more than 30 years ago and was surprised (happily so) to see he’s been active during that time. This disc was a great vehicle to catch up with someone still making vital music after lo these many years.
CD was in like-new condition. Thanks!

Ian Hunter at his best

Classic collection of songs from Britains greatest living songwriter. The former Mott The Hoople frontman's writing has matured like a fine wine and his 2001 offering contains some of his finest work. Instant classics such as Dead Man Walking, Knees of my Heart and No One alongside out and out rockers such as Still love Rock and Roll. If you see it Buy it.Read full review...
