I, Strahd - Looking forward to more

I decided to buy this book from urging of my husband, he's not much of a reader but knows I'm a bookworm and wanted me to read this book and tell him about it. So i did, good decision. I was finished reading it well within a week and I cant wait to read more. It's not quite as compelling as some books I've read but it was still very much a page turner. The only reason it didnt elicit a "Excellent" from me is because it didnt have the kind of ending I preferr. I still cannot wait to read more about Strahd, he is a unconventional but likeable character, powerful but not god-like. The imagery was very good and the inexplicable events just leave me wondering and wanting more. Strahd is the kind of character that I wouldnt fear meeting, given I would be very wary if i were to ever meet him, but unless you have crossed him, or mean to cross him, he doesnt strike me as evil, just vengeful. And Woe to those who DO cross him.
Over all, a highly recommended read, I will be purchasing the others soon myself.Read full review...

Well worth a second read

I read this book before at 16 when I played D&D almost daily with my group of friends. I searched a good portion of my adult life to find it again and would not pass it up at any price.
Fans of the Ravenloft campaign setting will quietly wallow in the familiar knowledge and appreciate the history explained.
As a stand-alone story of love and loss it is great. I re-read it completely in less then 30 hours. I normally do not read books because I frankly do not have the time, or interest to be bothered. I will by the second book ASAP and devour it as well I am sure.Read full review...

Give this a try if you liked Interview With The Vampire. It is also the first in a series if you are looking to sink your teeth into another line of vampire book. It's a fun ride.
