Razer Tartarus v2

Razer is always a good choice for peripherals. They make the beat keypads for gaming you can buy. Nuff said. Little bit of learning curve if you aren't used to it but time fixes all things. Except broken stuff. Time doesn't fix that. Luckily, razer stuff doesn't break easyRead full review...

Solid product, but not an Orbweaver

I use pads like the Tartarus v2 not only for gaming , but to speed up tasks in various production tools and my daw. The Tartarus v2 is capable, but while it costs about the same as my old Orbweaver Chroma (the second pic below), it is not adjustable and hence not as comfortable when used for hours.

If you are moving from an older Razer pad, be aware that the company does not provide a migration tool for your keybindings/macros. In the Orbweaver to Tartarus case, there is only one change, the scroll wheel replaced key twenty and even that has the keypress. If you have several profiles on an older pad, be prepared for the frustration of tracking down all your hard earned settings and manually reentering EVERYTHING.

I'm not big on LED lighting (why be distracted in low light by your tools?) and my units are all locked on blue, so I can't really comment on the light show options Razer has provided for the Tartarus v2.

I'm going to keep the Tartarus v2, but really only because I expect my Orbweaver to die eventually and consider the Tartarus v2 an acceptable alternative.

Own this & Logitech G13

After being used to my G13 I wasn’t expecting too much of an upgrade. Was hoping the Dpad might work similar to an Xbox controller thumbstick. If you are buying the Tartarus for that specific reason I would not advise doing so.
That said, the performance, feel and adjustability, button layout and dpad (versus the G13 analog stick that needs improvement in both response and design) are all superior in the Tartarus. My mouse is a 502 by Logitech and my keyboard is also Logitech. I also have a great 600 Logitech mouse however I use the 502 more than 90% of the time. Pointing that out to illustrate that I have no bias for or against either company; the Tartarus is simply a better gaming pad. Plenty of other options out there but everything I’ve seen, these two are the best options and by comparison, the Tartarus is the Cream of the Crop imo when it comes to Gaming Key Pads.
I’ll be staying with this V2 for the foreseeable future.

Amazing

it Takes some getting used to and a little bit of pre work to get it working(download and install the software and set it up) l, but once it’s done, it does it’s job real well. I love this thing because it’s not just a half keyboard, it is a command center. You can program each key to do just about anything you can imagine from keys to launching programs or windows and macros, you name. 10 out of 10 I want this device to be everywhereRead full review...

Must have thing

I bought as a New Year gift for my son and he loves it, plus it saves the keyboard on his gaming laptop which is not cheap and hard to change.

Years of Use

I've used pretty much the entire product line. Even all the way back to the Belkin days when Razer and Belkin worked together on the N52. My current Orbweaver I am replacing was the non-Chroma version. I have abused it for 5 years now and it has just started to wear out. The D-Pad is what broke, all the "keyboard" keys still work perfectly. I'll find some use for it.Read full review...

Unique and interesting accessory - lots of novelty factor!

I'm currently using this device as temporary replacement macro/command pad. Pleasantly surprised with its simplicity and the included software suite.
