I Mean... it's Resident Evil 4...

I don't necessarily need to wax poetic about how great resident evil 4 is but I will state that the Wii version is one of the best converted versions of the game. Until the AC remasters it was the best looking version of the game in addition to one of the best playing versions of the game. You're getting all the content from resident evil 4 original on the GameCube (non-prerendered cutscenes graphical fidelity HD improvements from the porter version on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) well also getting a better aiming method and the content from the PlayStation 2 version including separate ways. Damning for this version of the game is excellent and translates very well to the Wii without much issue. I did have minor issues here and there with the Quick Time Events registering but that could have also been due to my Wii remote. Besides the recently released VR version and the PC port that supports mods kind of this is probably one of the best versions of the game.Read full review...

Liar

Game is fine and all but lied about it being new disk has a few scratches when I opened it.
No need to lie just to get a few more bucks
I paid for a new one so it should've been new!

Every Resident Evil fan should have this game

Anyone who follows the RE series has already played this game in some version of the VARIOUS ports of it. It's 2013 and I can say that this game is as fun as it was in 2005 when I played it at my cousin's house. I only just recently owned this game for the Wii because I haven't exactly been keeping up with the series since RE 3: Nemesis. But anyway the controls in this game are perfect when using the Wii remote because aiming and shooting is so satisfying and it even vibrates; which I really like. I couldn't stop playing as I seriously got addicted to this game and even got the "gamer blues" when a great game is finished. However, replay is there because of the extras you get for playing the game over again(costumes, weapons) and the bonus modes that really add even MORE hours to this already great game. In fact, shame on anyone who calls themselves a hardcore gamer and doesn't own some version of this game or have even played it, it inspired many of third-person shooters people love so much these days, its just that good.Read full review...

Best version of the game.

Despite the fact the game is more action than survival horror; RE4 was breath of fresh air to the franchise with the change of gameplay.

Succeded on everything; gameplay, graphics, content, carrying the weight of a loved franchise. On the Wii version gameplay got upgraded due the motion controls that improved the game experience a lot.

Add the Wii capacity to be a good system to port games and all the RE4 previous content alongside the mercenaries mode and you got a 5 star Capcom game that is more than a classic. A must buy game

The best in the series

This is the best game in the Resident Evil series and yu can't go wrong with getting it on Wii. You can play the game with a Gamcube controller, pro controller, classic controller, and Wii mote, which makes it easy to find a play style one likes. The story is mysterious and the game-play set the bar for games like it to come. This game truly is a classic and still holds up after all these years. Don't miss out!Read full review...

Still the best way to play Rez 4

One of the best games ever made and still the best way to play it. The graphics are murky on the Wii and somehow that increases the paranoia compared to the higher resolution of recent ports. I tried it on a Wii with a good up-converter but actually prefer the grainy Wii U HDMI signal for this game. Graphics aside, what makes this the best Rez 4 is the controls. When you're suffering with those classic Rez controls, you'll at least be able to do head shots with precision using the Wiimote. The waggle controls are optional for most things except quicktime events. Shaking the controller and screaming is just a bit more fun that rapidly pressing buttons or shaking a thumbstick. You can optionally shake to reload or slash. The only thing I wish they had done is implement motion controls for the rifle scope.Read full review...

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

If you have played this game on the playstation II format you will find that the story line is the same in the Wii format. As with playing any game, new or on a different system, you will find that it can take a while to get used to the controls.
Pros and cons of Resident evil 4 on the Wii
Pros:
1. If you have played this game on playstation II, the aiming can be difficult due to only having a "dot" from your laser on the gun, the Wii offers a bigger "cross-hair" type of aiming system.
2. In my opinion you have a better range in aiming because of being able to use the Wii controller to move the cross-hairs to the target. The only draw back is that you will have to get used to aiming the cross-hairs and moving the camera (with the nunchuck attachment) at the same time.
Cons:
As of right now the only con I have come up with is that the process of learning the new way of controlling your character--but that is the way it is with any new gaming system you play.

Great, but no HD.

Great game for the Wii. The motion controller is spot on, very accurate. This makes the game even more fun then the original in my opinion. However, the lack of HD is really hard to get used to.

Spot on!!

This game get nothing short of 5/5 from me!

If you have not played the older releases of this game (and why not?) the you are in for a treat! You play as Leon Kennedy who was the star of Resident Evil 2, who is now working for the US government and has been sent to a mysterious Spanish village to locate and rescue the presidents daughter, Ashley Graham.

I played the original gamecube version when it was released quite a while ago, I never played the PS2 version so I never had a chance to play the special 5 chapters as Ada Wong, but I can now! You also get a chance to play the special mini game 'Mercenaries', where you must kill as many enemies you can in a certain amount of time in order to achieve the highest score, performing killing combo's also increases your final score. The graphics in this version also seem slightly improved.... My finish time was 18 hours (but dont forget ive already played it through before), for someone new to RE4 id say it could take around 25 hours or more.

Obviously the main feature of the Wii version (and what everyone wants to know about) is use of the Wii's remote and nunchuk controllers, in my eyes the control system is flawless and handles extremely well. But the thing I just cant help but say 'awesooooome' to, is the use of the speaker on the wii remote, the remote will play reloading sounds and shotgun cocking sounds :D Let me guide you through which buttons do what:

REMOTE:
You use the remote to aim your current weapon. It can also be used to reload, you do this by shaking the remote whilst aiming. Shake the remote (when not aiming) to slash with your knife.
B = This aims your weapon
A = Fire (B must also be pressed)
+ = Command Ashley to follow or wait, skip cinematic.
- = Inventory
D-PAD = Shift camera
1 = Map
2 = Pause menu

NUNCHUK:
You use the nunchuk to move Leon and snipe using rifles.
C = Brings out your knife.
Z = Run (hold back then press run to do a 180 degree turn)

I find these controls work very well and don't think anyone will have a problem controlling this game. I guarantee you will enjoy this one and with a retail price of just £29.99 its a bloomin' bargain and should be in everyones collection.

Hope this helped some people make a decision!

The way to play RE4!

It's 2018 - I can get this on about any console, the PC version has exceptional graphics overhauls and custom controls, but I have to say, playing this game with the Wii controls is the best experience this game has to offer. The motion controls really make it. I wish they did a port for the Wii U to take advantage of the Wii Motion Plus and the updated hardware, but this is still my favorite port of this classic.Read full review...

Possibly the best Gamecube game

Resident Evil 4 is hands down the best entry in the series. They finally found the perfect balance of action and inventory management while introducing RPG-like elements by way of weapons upgradability. The combination of upgradable weapons and the new game+ feature gives the game incredible replay value. The game is also long enough to make it worth a purchase and not just a rental.

I find myself replaying this game every few years, usually on a different platform. I've played it on Gamecube, PS2, Wii, and PC and I enjoy it just as much every time.
