Interesting Trio of Lesser-Known Satyajit Ray Films in a Single Set
This triple feature film dvd set of Satyajit Ray releases offers an overview of three lesser-known works by the Indian master. KAPURUSH (THE COWARD) is a memorable drama with superlative performances by the three leads and is presented in a notably well-defined print. MAHAPURUSH (THE HOLY MAN) is a thoroughly engaging comedy, as a trio of Calcutta intellectuals resolve to unmask a fake prophet / seer. The third item included, unfortunately marred by vertical barring, some pixel decay, and a fair amount of underlit graininess, is a detective mystery featuring Ray's own invented sleuth Feluda, with the director adapting his own story for film.
