Excelsior River Raid, Excelsior!

I can still recall the hours I spent with my cousins playing River Raid on the Atari 2600 back in the 80's. In my opinion, it was revolutionary for it's day and provided the player a challenge and a tease. It never got old or frustrating to the point that you didn’t want to consistently beat your high score. It's amazing that a game that came on the market about 25 years ago still has this much playability. If you've never played River Raid in your youth, or if you're new to Atari, I suggest you consider adding this gem to you collection. You won't be disappointed. One of the best.

River Raid is always rated as one of the best games for the 2600 and for a good reason - the game is fun, challenging, and doesn't lose it's playability with time. You have to run up the river in your plane, blowing up stuff without running out of gas. Sounds simple, but there's a lot of strategy involved here. If you like 'space shooter' type games then River Raid is probably something you'd really enjoy. Fun little nostalgic game

Well it may not have the best graphics in the world compared to modern games you have to remember this game was made in 1982 but for $10 you sure can’t beat it.

It brings you back to the 80's the way Atari could the graphics were top of the line in their day. Definitely worth owning and playing. I remember sitting in front of the huge console TV. Awesome!!!
