A Broadway Musical MUST See For Grown-Ups

To begin with, this review is on the actual Broadway production being held at the Helen Hayes theatre in New York City. The "live" musical production is completely different than the movie; however, that said, if an adult over the age of at LEAST 45-50 years old has not treated themselves to the movie or the much more incredible broadway production, they are missing out!

It is fascinating to watch and HEAR an era not that long ago and receive the sudden jolt that we were one time those same young kids surrounded by adults...both good and not-so good. Most of us were pretty good kids who occasionally made mistakes, but NOTHING like some of mistakes made by the youth and adults today.

The compilation of music is energizing, spiritual, up-lifting, and leaves an adult with hope of positive things to come under our current president. And heck! Hillary Clinton for mayor of NYC...I say "go for it", and I'll listen to the movie version again today with Tom Cruise. Rock of Ages by Original Cast (CD, Jul-2009)

I just went to see this musical in New York with my 17 year old grandson & unfortunately they had sold out of the CD. It was a delight to find out that story is narrated on the CD, along with all the great songs.
It is a fabulous array of 1980 hits, reproduced with great new voices of 2009. If you can't get to the show this is the next best thing to being there. Highly recommended by my grandson too!Read full review...

Just what I wanted and needed. The jewel case had a couple cracks on the front, but that could have happened in the mail. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

This CD is the perfect addition to my collection! I absolutely LOVED this Broadway performance. This CD allows me to experience it again and again and again. I listen to this everyday and sing to it as loud as I can in the car...who cares...I JUST LOVE IT! Great music by great artists, who does a great job of recreating all these "hair hard rock classics".

Loved the play, love the CD!

Saw the play, reminded of all the music, but loved the individual renditions of the familar songs I grew up with (I'm in my 40's) Great collection of songs done a little differently, good stuff!

I love this CD. I'd recommend if you're a fan of the 80

I bought the CD because I went to see the musical in New York, but i did it have the change to buy there so i buy it online, and i love it. Make me remember like I'm in the musical. I'd recommend the CD Rock of Ages if you're a fan of the 80's music.Read full review...

Rock of ages CD broadway cast

Saw the Musical & wanted the CD as a gift for friend for xmas..
great music from the 80's. The musical is great & the CD is
as well... A must have if you like the musical

Pretty good score ,I still love Old Broadway,

I Love Broadway,I was in the original cast of Oliver,toured with the National Broadway cast of Gypsy Etc.This show rocks but it's not the Broadway I love.
