GREAT FOR THE PRICE

GREAT FOR THE PRICE
great for putting on equipment that doesn't require a lot of power. Don't trust the clip lights. LED did not light when distortion was present. Loaded it down to 2 Ohms and sounded ok. I'm using 2 amps on 15" lows at 4 Ohms each channel but for a system that requires 80dB SPL only. Great for the application and plan to buy moreRead full review...

disappointed... weak amp

I bought this amp because of it's subwoofer filter which lets the amp only put power into 140 Hz and lower. I thought this would be great, since it's a bridgeable amp and I intended to use it for a single big subwoofer. Sadly, I found that this amp even bridged is much too weak to keep up. I think it's sad that specs aren't as accurate as in the past. This new amp claims to be 500 watts RMS bridged with 1000 watts peak power, but it behaves like a classic 80 watts. Anyway, it would be a good amp, if it just had more actual power.Read full review...

Good value, but highly fictitious power ratings.

This little amp delivers, 94.2 Watts RMS from 20Hz to just beyond 20kHz into 8 Ohms with both channels driven. Into 4 Ohm loads, 97.5 Watts are available from 20Hz to beyond 20kHz. This suggests rather modest power supply regulation and ample dynamic power at 8 and 4 Ohms. The power supply voltage is +- 61.8Volts at warm idle. There are four large plastic output devices, 2SC-5200 & 2SA-1943. I was able to improve the dynamic power at low frequencies by doubling the puny filter electrolytics to 10,000uf from the original 4,700uf units. Another worthwhile modification was to install Bourns 10-turn potentiometers to facilitate adjustment of the output stage DC bias. The amp is supplied biased just above Class-B, therefore crossover notch distortion is plainly visible at all frequencies of interest, well into useful power output levels. Interestingly, the PC board has places to install bias POTs, but the manufacturer is either too cheap, or it's engineers lack finesse, or both. One modified, these amps behave nicely in real audio systems on music someone might actually appreciate. In, conclusion these products are of decent construction, but one mustn't look too closely or listen with a trained ear. Sadly, the cost of the parts needed to greatly improve the performance is only $20.00. Any person with a wit of technical expertise can perform the upgrades, but the "average Joe" had better stay clear. As supplied, I would give these amps a C-. With the upgrades the grade would be B+ to A-. As for the factory power ratings, they are utter b-llsh-t. Read full review...

Works like a Charm!

This amp is really good for small to medium output speakers. Connected them to a pair of Rockville 800w passives and it performed really well. The Hi's and Low's came through quite well. connections were easy and swift both for input and output. Can't say anything about the "Link" option 'cause I haven't used it yet. We used the 800's just to see if we could drive them and they performed well. I would say that with this 1000w 400 or so would be a better choice, but it did work very well with the larger speakers.
The only down side was the mounting ears didn't exactly line up, but a little shifting here and there and they finally got seated in the box. As for operation, no downside at all.
I definitely would recommend this amp.

OK

It makes sound like any amp should. The cooling fans are a little loud. If you can live with the fan noise, then this amp should work OK for you. If fan noise is an issue, then you might want to look elsewhere.Read full review...

Rockville ROCKS!!

Honestly can’t believe I got such a great camp for so little. I’ve been maxing it out for over two weeks now and it hasn’t even gotten warm! I use it to power an 18 inch sub for my live drum kit and it shakes the foundations. I highly recommend :-) five stars and two thumbs up all day long. Way to go RockvilleRead full review...

Low cost with plenty of power.

This amplifier has some good features. I am using it in bridged mode with two 15" subwoofers paralleled into 4ohms. This configuration provides plenty of bass for smaller venues. The amplifier also has other features such as split crossover and passthrough inputs. I am happy with my purchase.Read full review...

Backup becomes the main thing!

Easy to set up. All elements clearly marked. Clean quiet power, just right for a bass rig. I bought this as a backup to my main travel rig but I was so impressed by the clarity and headroom. Great product so far, let's see how I feel a year from now.Read full review...

Worth the money

Used it for a DJin' gig, and it powered my (2) speakers perfect. I put it at 70% power out and very nice. I will eventually but (2) more speakers for this amp to power them also. Equipment stayed very cool. Buying Rockville powered subs next.Read full review...
