The greatest performance, played with strength as well as grace. The sound is warm and transparent on this SACD.

The last performance of Rubinstein’s Brahms piano concerto is less tense than his previous ones, as with Fritz Reiner/Chicago Symphony. However it is more elegant, graceful, with piano singing beautifully over the oppressive storming orchestra sound. The Adagio is played with much slower pace, but with more elegance and sincerity. It is really affectionate and moving. The whole performance is full of strength and energy to its ending.Read full review...
