Sailor King St Fountain Pen - Black

Sailor 1911 KOP--a wonderful design, delightful to use, splendid writer.

I ordered the Sailor 1911 King of Pen (KOP) on 06.15.2019; it arrived on 06.21.2019, which is excellent time for an overseas order.

Sailor makes various versions of the KOP, & some of them are extremely expensive, but ALL have the renowned Sailor 21K number 8 nib. The one I have is the black, cigar-shaped 1911 with gold nib and fittings.

It writes as one should expect for the price: The nib is smooth, with excellent but not excessive ink flow, & it has slight feedback. I have medium-sized hands, so the pen fills my hand well without being uncomfortable. The balance is excellent (I don't post this pen; there is no need to).

The KOP is cartridge/converter-fill. Some people object to that, but if you change ink frequently, that or an eye-dropper is ideal; it makes the pen easier to clean.

Wonderful Writer

I love my Sailor profit king pen. It’s a large body and large nib pen that has the most wonderful writing experience. I have the medium nib and it writes more like a Western fine. It is a very smooth them with just a hint of feedback that is the trademark of the sailor nib. The pen posts well But it’s large enough to be used and unposted. The only drawback with this pen is that it is made of the typical resin found with the sailor black pens. I think, when I have the opportunity, I may get the Sailor KOP Ebonite pen. But for the price I paid, I will enjoy this pen immensely. Read full review
