A slasher film imitates professional rasslin.

With a great amount of money, top filming, lights, sets, production values they've created junk.
The original actors looked old and out of place. The biggest flaw was the incessant yammering about how "Stab" (The fictional personification- or equivalent- of "Scream"); 'is the epitome of the greatest horror film ever'. This "Scream" followed very much normal "Scream" plot line. "Scream" continually brags of it's magnificence while slamming other films.
A slasher film imitates professional rasslin. It used to be that professional rasslin (wrestling) had lots of matches during the show. Now days it's all talk. Turn it on and you'll see a guy or girl bragging how great he/she is while spiting out threats to their pay-per-view opponent. This is what this release of "Scream" did. There were some good kills, but it was all the same old same old. Too much bragging up "Stab"- Which equals "Scream", while being derisive of other horror films. They, also, used film footage from previous "Scream" films in excess.
They forgot that 'Horror' is a compilation of many different types of horror films. 'Slasher films' are a sub order of 'Horror'. This film had everything available to it's creation. They just couldn't find a good writer(s). In the pantheon of 'Slasher Films' The "Scream" franchise had made a very good entry. This movie fails compare to its predecessors.
The plot line- pretty much the same as before. If you compared this film to a Thanks Giving meal:
In the end all that they had for this 'Thanks Giving' extravaganza was a 'Raw Turkey".

Great story!

I loved it. I love the entire series. This movie did a great job bringing the series to a close....maybe? Who knows. But if so, it was done well.

Best Scream sequel, a terrific slasher, it honors Wes’ legacy.

Disregard the naysayers. This film is wonderfully crafted and is by far the best film in the franchise since the original (and yes, a fan of the franchise I am). Not convinced? Disagree? Well, it clearly worked for many people, no surprise it became not only the most financially successful film since the original but also the most well-regarded. What are critics and some fans smoking, naysayers ask? Certainly not hate.

But heh, it’s funny seeing how many of the unimpressed folks (the most vocal naysayers) proved the many points this film made about modern fandom with their criticisms. At any rate, I could write a longer and more detailed review, however I’ll just say I am one of many Scream fans who LOVED this sequel. Oh, and sweet Steelbook
