I wanted to like this game...

I am a huge dinosaur fan. Always have been since I was a kid. I walked into Gamestop one day and picked up Sea Monsters. It appears as though it is geared toward children. Hours later I find myself struggling to maneuver a prehistoric reptile through the sea. Like, really struggling. How are kids supposed to get this when a 30-year-old guy can't figure it out?

I did enjoy the taste of education I got with this title. I felt the communication between the wiimote and the game was sub-par and could stand to be improved quite a bit. I wanted to like this game a lot, but alas, it was just very, very average.Read full review...

Cool Game

The game is fun, but it was a little hard to understand at first but once my son and I got the hand of it, it was interesting and educational. We like the options of being able to choose different monsters and the fossil screen is very educational. It is hard for me to find appropriate games for my scientific minded 11 year old. Most kids would be happy with a video game about driving but not my kid, he wants games that teach too. This is also the child that wanted a microscope and a Chem set for his birthday. For the prehistoric lover

Amazing game with many good tidbits of information about these prehistoric sea monsters. As far as controlling and learning the moves, a tutorial would have been nice. Charactoristics of the wii game Sea Monsters

The graphics on the game are awesome. It is like really in the ocean. The game is a little difficult to figure out at first, but the more you play the easier it becomes. I decided to buy the game because I love the ocean so I thought it would be neat to go back in time and see what life was like in the ocean back then. Using the wii remote you control the actions of the sea monster as you look for hidden fossils and try to unlock new monsters to help you explore the depths of the world below the water. This is a neat game and I look foward to playing it more to see what other things await me in the game.Read full review...

hmmm...

I decided to buy this game for me and my 6yr. old because we are both fascinated by the ocean and it seemed like a simple game. As far as her playing it, forget about it. It is much too difficult for her to maneuver the creature, much less, eat and fight for survival. I, too, am having a hard time getting the hang of the movements. I haven't been able to figure out how to make my creature eat even though I've followed the instructions in the manual. Same goes for fighting. I can't make turns or charges and always end up dying. We've had this game for almost 2 weeks now and have played it for less than 30 minutes. BORING!!! I guess you get what you pay for.Read full review...

As much as the reviews are on the internet, they are mostly true. Is it kind of a dark (lighting) game.

My boy enjoys it and hasn't set it down so it was well worth it for that.

Sits in the cabinet

Not a fun game to play but more a learning tool. It just sits in the cabinet. I can't say that I like anything about it. We got it due to our love for sea life but one can only take so much. Don't waste your money and time on this one.Read full review...

Very difficult to play even for skilled players

The wii remote must be held in a very controlled area for proper movement of sea monsters. Bought this for a 7 and 10 year old who are skilled at other games. They could not get through the simplest parts. Adults who are articulate tried and also had great difficulty. I recommend you look for a different game.Read full review...
