Great mechanical watch for a great price,
This is a great first mechanical watch. My son is turning 12 and has already had a bunch of cheap quartz watches that his mother bought him. They break shortly after buying them.
My son is a very smart boy and appreciates the fact that the watch is a tiny precise machine that keeps excellent time.
When I was his age I was getti g very interested in watches but I didn't know the difference between quartz or that mechanical war he's even existed. I have gone on to build an large collection of mechanical / automatic watches.
this watch is his 12th birthday present.
I was originally going to get him a mechanical search watch but once I looked at the price and the quality I began to look around for other options and remembered the seiko makes mechanical watches.
I searches around and found the seiko 5 sport line. I showed the various models to my son and he really like the military field watch look.
I searches around forocal retailers in Toronto, Canada where Iive then searched online. I found a retailer in Singapore (I know it is a big watch market having been myself a few times). They had the watch I wanted and the version made in Japan versus Malaysia for a good price. I was a bit reluctant to order but they had a lot positive reviews and trusted ebay would provide some protection.
I ordered it, it said it was going to take mi th to arrive, it arrived 9 days later and I love it. My son's birthday in 2 weeks so I haven't given it to him yet but I know he is going to love it.
One last note, the retailer I bought it from makes you buy premium shipping in order to get the original box. It is not well communicated so I was disappointed that I didn't get the original box. So if you order from this company and want the original box make sure to choose the premium (and faster) shipping option.
All in all, very excited to give this to my son and start his own passion for mechanical watches!

Overall very good for the price
Really enjoying this watch so far.
Good:
- Has a good feel, weight, and is overall comfortable
- I very much like the look of it
- Very visible glow in the dark dials and marks
- Easy and not complicated to adjust
- Still fits well on my very thin wrists.
- Doesn't get quite as uncomfortable in the heat as other watches/bands I've worn.
Not-so-good:
- Is a tiny bit slow. After a couple weeks it becomes a noticeable and needs to be adjusted.
- Initially the tips of the band still had somewhat abrasive bits where the fabric had been sealed. Though this was worn away after a some wear.
- Product details were a bit confusing. Saw in some places that the band was 20mm, but it was actually 22mm.

Great watch without breaking the bank!
I've owned this Seiko 5 automatic for only a couple of weeks. I bought it mainly because I'm tired of my watches needing a battery. I was concerned that it would be thick or bulky due to the automatic mechanism. I've found that my concerns were unfounded. It's a nice looking watch with a durable design. The standard strap is comfortable and personally, I like the simple design and features. My only minor complaint (and only reason for 4 stars) is that it does seem to run a bit fast. The tags and instructions are Japanese. The watch is built like a tank. If it fell on my hardwood floor it would probably break the floor, not the watch.
