High Quality label Printer from a Great Company

Great printer from a company that still has wonderful and courteous customer support, even for outdated products. This SLP 650 replaces a Seiko SLP 220 that worked through Windows 98 thru Windows 7 but no drivers are available for Windows 10 meaning we had to upgrade to a new printer. These are pretty much bullet proof and the 650 prints wider labels and bar codes as well as the letter size labels which was the limit on the 220. The program that is packaged with the printer is easy to use and very flexible also allows labels to be saved and retrieved for use at later times. Small foot-print for easy and convenient placement. It's also much faster printing than the 220. I highly recommend Seiko products if you're in the market for any products they build.Read full review...

Looks like 'what the doctor ordered - but....

My evaluation is based upon using the earlier SLP-100 printer (still running) and corresponding software. With the new 650 I could not be more disappointed.
---NEVER, AND I MEAN NEVER jam a label. Do NOT try to pull it out. If you do it will require a complete disassembly - 1st time 1.5-- 2 hrs - and be careful. It's plastic. On the plus, it prints quickly! I now could probably now do it in 30".

As for the software, I doubt if even the technicians at Seiko can figure it out. 2 calls lead to the same spot -- a referral to the 'Help' section. This is a very 'half-cooked' area.

I purchased the 650 because I am now a MAC user. To run a Seiko printer you need the 600 or 650 model. Their SLP100-400 printers will not work on a MAC. Nor it is simple to transfer files. Original files were saved in a '.sll' format. This printer requires it be converted to '.csv' which the older program can do.
I find that software development is incomplete-as of now. But, they will eventually fix it!

Great SEIKO SLP --650 label printer.

Previously I had a SLP-100 which stopped working, after 20 years. Bought a Dymo but gave it away; was hard to set up.etc. . So I decided to buy the SEIKO SLP-650 & I love it, nothing like the SEIKO.!!!!! AND it takes 2 different size labels. Read full review...

Love these printers. Had one at my last job and just bought this for myself because I hated being without one. This is a newer version and has more capabilities. So nice to be able to print address labels, file folder labels, etc that are quick and easy to do and look great.Read full review...

SLP 650 printer

This new printer is an upgrade for me. I'm very pleased with the ease of installing and using the 650 smart label printer. I have to admit that I'm learning more of what this printer can do as I use it . I like the ability to use different size labels. A good point is that you don't have to add ink, just replace the label spool as required. You would be pleased with the printerRead full review...
