Fun Game to play. 4 out of 5 stars.

I played the 1st game many many years ago. Though I actually liked the 1st one better than this sequel, still a Fun Game to play! Does require a lot of memory & takes up a lot of hard drive space, but definitely a fun game. Many goals & quests where you build up your army and town buildings gathering resources like deer, fish, wheat for food and iron, wood and stone for building. Advance in stages to gain higher levels, conquer lands and their armies to gain their territories. Win over the entire mapped world to conquer this game. Hours of game play.Read full review...

Good game, Still some bugs.

The over all game play was a little like settlers 2, where you have to build roads in order for your people to move around, the witty banter of your adviser saying 'We need more sausages' is quite humorous but the game lacks a bit more of the playability of previous versions. The graphics are quite impressive, and conversely, requires your computer to be much more up to date to run smoothly, that is if you can get the game to run for any period of time. You have to constantly save you game and hope that it doesn't crash while doing so.Read full review...

The Settlers: Rise of an Empire

This is the first game of this series I have played and I absolutely love it. It is an amazingly rich environment, populated by completely alive animation of people, animals and flora. Seasons change, rains come, snow falls, leaves color, winds blow the trees. You can zoom in close and listen to the settler's conversations during the festivals.Zoom in and watch the hunter's in the forest stalking deer. Zoom in and see your soldiers face to face. Watch your settlers travel from workplace to market with their goods. Each campaign will give you a new city to build, you can move across the map to any location and view a moving, living world in superb detail. Choose your knight, build your town, conquer new areas of the map, defeat enemies, help your allies, plan your strategies. I am astounded by the detail in this game, it is like nothing else I have seen. You will be immersed for hours and it will feel like minutes, it is that fascinating.

BEAUIFUL GAME

I love this game! hard about the title long time ago, finally got hand on it and play with it. tell you the truth it is much like STRONGHOLD and CIVILIZATION games, where you can build your society and explore land to protect or defeat other players. but this game have much more to offer, the graphic and color are very like old style 3D ( don't you just hate the new 3D with so peal color?). there is other fun elements in this game, but you really have to play it to find out. the game is cheap, but the fun is overload. you won't be sorry i promise.Read full review...

Awesome Game

I bought the game because I cannot get stronghold immediately and found that this game is similar and more. Can't wait to get off from work to go back to playing this game.The graphics are super detailed. Up close it is like being inside the game itself.
