Makes replacing the water heater much easier

I'm a landlord so I have a lot of water heaters and I've used this product on a half dozen water heaters across time as I've swapped out dead heaters and have replaced the solid copper connections wherever they were present on the old installation. I like the flexible connection and the built in valves which make replacing a water heater much easier than solid copper pipe connections which have to be installed with unions to provide the same functionality. Having shutoff valves on both hot and cold lines means that I don't have to drain the associated living unit to make the switch.Read full review...

Defective item

This item was advertised as new, not in original packaging. I inspected the item and noticed that the gripping teeth looked a little different but I attempted to use it anyway not being an expert on Shark Bite fittings. When the water was turned on the fitting slipped off of the PVC pipe. Tried it a second time ensuring it was fully seated. It slipped off a second time.
