Finally good use to the Wii Board

The fact that you can finally use the Wii board for something other than Wii Fit is awesome. The game itself only takes about five minutes to learn how to play. There are two ways of playing using the wiimote or using the Wii board and wiimote. They have similar controls but each reacts differently. Personally I prefer the board. It provides a workout and is much closer to actual snowboarding as opposed to using the wiimote. On the other hand if you are tired, and don't feel like standing, crouching and all the movement you have to go through with the board, stick the wiimote.
As for the game itself, honestly I have only had it for a day, it seems pretty basic. The tricks aren't anything special, but pulling them off on the board is instantly gratifying. Not the type of game for hardcore players but something that everyone can have fun with.

BEST SNOWBOARDING EVER!

Snowboarding used to be all the rage in video games. Cool Boarders on the original PlayStation and 1080 on the N64 were both must own titles for their respective platforms, and later SSX proved that people couldn't get enough of insane jumps and ridiculous tricks. Then, along came Amped to show that a sim approach could work and the third game in the series made for a solid Xbox 360 launch title. Now a good few years into this console generation, with developers getting to grips with the power at their disposal, a snowboarding game should offer the very best kind of extreme sports entertainment. Ubisoft Montreal's Shaun White tries hard but in the end falls foul of a few rather unfortunate design decisions.

Although Shaun White's Snowboarding attempts to offer something in the way of a story, the game's really about you boarding down four massive mountains (Alaska, Park City Utah, Europe and Japan), taking part in events, collecting items for Shaun and playing with friends. Instead of giving you events in traditional video game fashion, this is more or less the GTA of the snowboarding genre, with each mountain free to explore, and events accessed by boarding up to them. With plenty of events to tackle, and coins to collect that unlock new moves, the set-up is great..The graphics are TOP NOTCH.

THIS IS A MUST BUY GAME
OVERALL 9/10

I WAS A BIG SSX FAN AND THIS GAME IS JUST AS GOOD (YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPONTED!)

Excellant snowboard experiance in your living room!

This game is great! I have been snowboarding many years and find myself going crazy in the off season. This game gives me the fix I need while waiting around and praying for snow. It is really realistic. It doesn't work for things like deep carving and spinning but it certainly helps with practicing switch riding and flexing and extending for tricks.
I would describe the feel as what I call lazy riding, when your just cruising around the mountain and taking it easy. The most challenging part of the game is the racing part because you have to apply more pressure and balance to the front of the Wii board to go faster, yet maintain enough side to side balance to still steer.
The downside is so far its been pretty easy to win challenges. I am hoping it gets more difficult as I open new challenges. I find the graphics a bit cheesy too, but I keep forgetting this game isn't being marketed towards my 30 something old school snowboarder age group. But hey its still fun!
Just as a side note this will help you get in shape for snowboard season too. I actually started feeling that whole calf burn you get half down the mountain at the beginning of the season; and I perspired too!

Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip (Wii)

This game for the wii fit is a ton of fun. The first time I played it, I was on it for five hours and didn't even realize how much time had passed. It is a great workout. You don't even realize your are working out until the next day when your muscles are sore from all the squats you were doing on the wii fit board. I am in pretty good shape and it gave me quite a workout. My kids love it too. A little difficult for my 5 year old, but she liked to try it anyway.Read full review...

Shaun White is amazing with the wii fit board

The game is quite amazing with the wii fit board. the hand controller is still used but all turning and jumping and the majority of the tricks are controlled by your own balance. Before I tried it, I thought it may not be very accurate displaying your movements but it is actually quite sensitive. It is a lot of fun. Enjoy!Read full review...

Excellent game for any skill level.

When I pay $50 for a game, I expect quality. This game demonstrated great quality. It explains everything you need to know to play the game. Using the wii balance board with the game is a great time. With a little practice, you can feel like a pro snowboarder. A great game and at the top of my favorites!Read full review...

My review of Shaun White Wii Target Edition

I bought this game and I am extremely disappointed. I am a snowboarder myself and have played other snowboarding games knowing that they tend to be a bit cheesy. Understanding that Shaun White is a professional snowboarder I was expecting something more relative to the sport. This game is also extremely basic considering the complexity of todays video games. I would expect to have played a game of this caliber on the original Playstation or Playstation 2. The levels are very boring and small and they are lacking any realism. I am very disappointed that Shaun White would let his name be put on this game. Then again we are talking about Shaun White.

I wouldnt recommend this to anyone.

Highly Recommended

Awesome game and good workout. Used with the balance board and it really resembles riding on a snowboard. I wish it came with more directions to get me started but I figured it out. A lot of choices throughout the game as you unlock different things. Endless hours of play. Can't wait to get another balance board so I can do the multi-player challenges. Trying to get more people to play it.Read full review...
