She Devil AKA the revenge of the mistreated housewife

I found this movie to be a little cheesy- but quite funny as well and definitely one that is worth watching, especially if you are a fan of Rosanne Barr's underdog style of comedy. The plot is also somewhat simmilar to First Wives Club (with a little less sophisticated characters), so if you liked that movie, you will probably like this one.

Roseanne Barr plays a doubty suburban housewife and mother, named Ruth. Although she demonstrates clear devotion to her accountant husband, Bob, he does not treat her well and we later learn that he only married her because she was pregnant (and his parents made him- what a guy, hugh?). The plot thickens when Bob and Ruth attend a party and Ruth spills her drink all over the famous romance novelist, Mary Fisher (played by Meryl Streep). For Bob and Mary it is love at first sight and they immediately begin a rather obvious affair. But when Bob tells Ruth that thier marriage is over and he is leaving her to be with Mary, she vows to get revenge by destroying everything that Bob considers to be an "asset" in his life- his house, family, his job AND his freedom...Read full review...

Ed Begley Jr DUMPS HIS PLAIN WIFE Roseanne for lovely ROMANCE WRITER Mary Fisher played for total fun BY Mery Streep from her PINK house to her sexy whispered voice Steep steals every scene she is in playing Mary Fisher~ Roseanne makes a list of ways to 'get even' for being dumped~ along the way she gets a new life which makes this worth watching how she starts a TEMP agency for housewives and gets even at the same time~ setting up Begley with sexy "accountant" ANGEL HONEY~ lol Begley romances and DUMPS her so now ANGEL HONEY AND BARR TEAM UP TO BRING DOWN CHEATING LIAR Begley and the fun IS watching them do it~ Meryl Steep shines as Mary Fisher and this is worth the watch for her alone~ she can play comedy and when Mary turns Bitch she takes that one ON too~ WORTH WATCHING FOR STEEP ALONE~ I GIVE IT A SOLID 8 OUT OF 10 FOR REVENGE~ TAKE OFF ON ROMANCE MOVIES AND WRITERS AND SCENE STEALING STEEP~ WHO is 100% fun to watch~

I LOVE THIS MOVIE. IF YOUR HUSBAND HAS DIVORCED YOU , YOU WILL LOVE THIS MOVIE TOO. SHE IS A GOOD WOMAN WHOSE CHEATING HUSBAND HAS LEFT HER FOR CELEBRITY ROMANCE BOOK WRITER. HE IS AN ACCOUNTANT, HE LOVES TO SCRAPE MONEY OFF THE TOP OF HIS CLINETS ACCOUNTS. SHE-DEVIL GETS EVEN WITH HER HUSBAND. SHE MAKES A LIST AND STICKS TO IT. SHE GETS TO KNOW THE CELEBRITY'S WRITERS MOM AND GETS HER KICKED OUT OF THE NURSING HOME HER DAUGHTER KEEPS HER HIDDEN. SHE-DEVIL MAKES FRIENDS WITH A NURSE AT THE NURSING HOME WHO'S GOT SOME MONEY TO SPEND. THEY BOTH QUIT AT THE NURSING HOME, BUY A BUILDING AND MAKE IT INTO A JOB FINDING PLACE ONLY FOR WOMEN. SHE-DEVIL ADVERTISES ALL OVER TOWN AND HELPS A LOT OF WOMEN. EVEN SETS HER EXHUSBAND WITH A NEW OFFICE CLERK . THEY HAVE AN AFFAIR BUT HE DUMPS THE GIRL . SHE-DEVIL AND THE GIRL FIND EVIDENCE TO CONVICT HIM OF STEALING MONEY , HAVING AFFAIRS ECT. SHE-DEVIL GETS EVEN AND HER EX-HUBBY DOESNT EVEN REALIZ SHE DID HIM IN. IT'S A GREAT GIRLS NIGHT MOVIE.
