Sounds horrific but it is not..... great character study wrapped in a-- who done it-- setting.

Worth the fun for a second time.

Guy Ritchie has surpassed himself! I am strongly of the opinion that Sir Conan Doyle would have approved of this cinematic splendor. From the first scene to the last; it is a perfect blend of a thriller, uncomplicated mystery and good old British humor. Downey Jr. gets better with every film, Jude Law did justice to his role and so did the others, Rachel was great in a small cameo. The action is just unbelievable. An Absolutely Terrific Movie - My Favorite New Franchise

As a huge fan of Conan Doyle and his literary detective, I was ecstatic to learn a couple years back that Guy Ritchie was going to helm a new Holmes movie franchise. After seeing the first two movies, I cannot be happier about what they've done. The movie-making is top notch and I've been nothing but impressed with the dynamic between Downey Jr. and Law. They're great actors who seem to share a genuine chemistry that works exceedingly well on camera. It's a new take on the partnership between Holmes and his trusted flatmate, Dr. Watson. They bicker, fight, disagree, steal each other's clothes, and yet you can tell there's an incredibly close bond between them. Watson finds it incredibly hard to commit to the married life and keeps finding himself drawn back to Holmes' side. It's rare for a movie to seemlessly combine intense action, drama, and unforced humor but Ritchie and Co. have done it twice now. The music, cinematography, dialogue, humor - it all combines to form two truly great movies. Also, both movies contain a worthy opponent for Holmes to match wits against. Jared Harris, who plays Professor Moriarty, gives a powerhouse performance in the second film as Holmes' ultimate foe and intellectual equal. Absolutely entertaining. Robert Downey, Jr. & Jude Cole at their best.

The first Sherlock Holmes was good but the sequel is hands down much more entertaining and engaging. If you liked #1, you should love this one.

Entertaining Downey flick

Even though this is not a traditional Sherlock Holmes movie, there is enough action, humor, and an interesting plot which made it enjoyable for me.
