SHIRLEY TEMPLE DARLING PACK--2 FEATURES + SHORT

This DVD is fantastic! It is from Universal Home Video, and features Shirley Temple in her 2 rare Paramount features, plus an extremely rare one-reel Universal short. "LITTLE MISS MARKER" and "NOW AND FOREVER", both made in 1934, are fine showcases with a little more script than Shirley, which was more the Fox style. "LITTLE MISS MARKER" is great Damon Runyon, to boot. The material is from Universal's 35mm masters. The addition is a hilarious 1932 Universal short "THE RUNT PAGE". This was from even better preprint; look as though from an original negative or nitrate print in pristine condition. It's a takeoff of "THE FRONT PAGE" with kids, and all the voices are dubbed by adults, and well synch'd for its time! A great DVD, highly recommended.Read full review...

I bought this for the Carole Lombard, Gary Cooper movie, that just happens to have Shirley Temple in it. Good movie gteat actors...seems like a before production code pic tho not sure.

Shirley Temple Little Darling Pack

Thought it would be good music and entertainment for my children. I was dismayed to find it wasn't a musical and the movie is highly inappropriate. Racist and shocking. A father leaves his daughter at a betting window as an I.O.U.. He doesn't return when the track closes and the man at the window takes the girl out to a club and she is passed around the table of men who all hold her to bet on her weight. When all the men leave, shirley goes home with the man from the track. He helps her undress for bed. I turned it off and didn't see the end. Many thumbs down!!!!Read full review...

This movie was purchased for my 3 year old daughter who looks just like Shirley Temple. I have been collecting Shirley Temple movies for a while now. This movie wasn't what I expected it didn't keep my daughter's attention at all.
