Great Lens for the price

I wanted to buy an all purpose lens for my Nikon D200 but didn't want to spend too much money at this time. I would love to have the Nikon 18-200MM VR lens but the price was a bit out of my range. After reading several reviews on this Sigma lens, I went to my local camera shop and played with it for for few mins and decided to buy one here on eBay for a lot less money. I love this lens and it take great pictures. I recommend this lens for anyone looking for a multi purpose lens. Time owned, 3 months.Read full review...

Another great Sigma lens

Sigma makes great lenses and this one is no different. I just used it on its first outing and shot under various conditions - cloudy, incandescent, and mixed lighting, and it did great on all of them.<br>
The OS is fabulous and I was able to get shots inside a museum without a tripod and without having to open it up wide. Fast auto focus too.

As another reviewer noted, it IS a heavy lens and gets heavier as the day goes on, but better that than a cheap piece of junk.

My other Sigma is a 10-20mm and I highly recommend it as well.

This one is a keeper!

I bought this lens for my son to take on a camping trip. Since he is using a D60 it I needed a lens that was AFS or in Sigma's case HSM for the auto focus. I own the Nikon version of the lens and thought it to expensive to chance it being lost or damaged. The Sigma performed flawlessly and it will be a constant companion on my D60 I keep in my vehicle. I am impressed with the lens and the quality of the photos taken with it. Some of the photos my son took on this trip will be enlarged and hung on our wall. It is a lot of lens for the money I spent on it and I think it is a keeper. :)Read full review...

A very capable all -in-one lens in this price range.

I bought this lens to replace a Tamron 18-200mm lens. Lenses are similar but this Sigma has the OS (optical stabilization) feature which the Tamron did not. I found this lens to be much sharper than the Tamron. This is a bigger, heavier and more ruggedly constructed lens than the Tamron and takes a 72mm filter where the Tamron was a 62mm filter. Sigma has a more recent model of this taking a 62mm filter. The best advice I could give anyone in buy a telephoto zoom like this is make sure there is some kind of stabilization ie: VC (Tamron), OS (Sigma), or VR (Nikon)...Read full review...

seeing clearly

The zoom has a wide range and nice features. Not a cheap/clone unit. Focus is fast and feels solid. The open aperture is not the 'fastest' but outside in a reasonably lit room it works well.

Great walk around lens

Great zoom capabilities. Little sluggish auto focusing and has problems auto focusing at 200mm. The Optic Stabilization is noisy as well. It does get the job done!

Great product, great brand.

I no longer need to carry my 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses. Both were replaced by this Sigma 18-200mm (used) and image quality seems to be as good as the Nikkors.
The only con would be the cost of 72mm filters.Read full review...

Great Lens!

Overall a great buy! The only thing is it's weight, the lens is a little heavy but otherwise I would highly recommend it. It's been my workhorse since I bought it and a great workhorse it is.
