A Nice Poor Man's Cinema Lens
Beautiful images on a tripod!
This may be considered heavy for photographers, but if used with Canon Cinema Cameras on a sturdy tripod, there none to compare with at this price.
Build quality is quite sturdy, what you might expect from a professional lens.
Optics are top notch. Focus is not quiet when shooting video, but considering the mass that needs to move it's completely acceptable.
Auto Focus is quick and accurate and can track subjects adequately. Not tested with Formula 1, but you get the picture.
Manual focus is easy enough with the large ring and long-ish throw.
Hood goes on easily and caps stay in place.
This is no cinema lens, but you would easily expect to pay 10x for something comparable.
I found it 100% compatible with my Canon C100 after a firmware update.
The only downside?
It really needs a top handle and focus gears.
My test videos with the Canon C100 can be found on vimeo.Read full review...
