Lightweight with great durability

While using this lens I was simply blown away by how sharp my ultrawide pictures came out. I love the optical stabilization which comes inside the lens but I was a little disappointed with the lowlight performance. I thought I could get a 1/60 shutter shot at f/2.8 in a dimly lit room, but I had to bring the shutter down to almost a second which was sorta sad. BUT it makes up for it in virtually everything else, so I HAVE NO DISSATISFACTION!!!Read full review...

Fantastic lens, especially for its price!

I bought this lens because I primarily shoot in low light event halls and night time photography, which led me to using a 35mm f1.8, which presents some inconvenience in tight spaces where I cannot step back enough. This lens is equivalent to a 24-70 on a full frame body, really sharp photos, silent AF motor, and has some weight to it. Would not hesitate to recommend this lens.Read full review...

Great Lens, Great Price!!

Awesome lens for its price. I was not happy with the 18-55 oem kit lens which was bundled with the camera and I was talking to a friend who is into photography, he suggested me to go for this lens and boy, I am glad I did!

low f numbers (2.8) across the entire zoom range is great for evening and lowlight shots. Images are sharp, crisp and vivid.

I would recommend this lens to anyone who would like to upgrade and get a decent lens for a great price

Love this lens

It has a sharp image decent amount of Boca and a good vocal range 17 mm to 50 mm. And it’s perfect for my crop sensor body a Canon T6i. It’s not for afull frame you will get the netting around the corners, but you can always crop in. This lens makes a good choice for your first zoom lens.Read full review...

Great Lens! A must to for sure.

It's a sharp, sturdy and reliable lens.
I had the Nikon 35mm and 50mm both 1.8G, they were awesome but were stolen from me, so I went in my way to replace them and this one crossed in front of me with awesome reviews, image quality is better than my 35mm(may be my copy was too soft) and almost the same than the 50mm(the sharpest lens I ever tried) but the real advantages with this one is that that it cover from 17 to 50mm with a nice constant aperture F/2.8 just as little as one stop and a third from the others.
It's amazingly sharp on all zoom range even at F/2.8, I liked how sharp it is at F/4, which might be it's sweet spot(not sure yet, have to keep shooting)
The only way a get a 50mm again is if it's the 1.4G.

If your are looking for a varifocal lens for all occasion, don't think it twice.
By the way, Winktokyo sent it from Japan to my door(well my hotel door LOL) in about 5 natural days(from Friday to Tuesday) What else do you need??!!!

Buy It! stop fooling around... Buy It! you'll be happier, I know I am.

Fast and Sharp! just as a gold medalist athlete, delicious bokeh, no colour aberration (that I detected), the OS works very well. A couple of friends have this lens, nevertheless i was saving for the Nikkor 17-55 2.8, but both agreed in letting me know that the Nikkor was outdated and Nikon weren't going to upgrade it any time soon, and as it seems they are getting rid of their DX "pro" format, they will probably let it die. Got this one used and in mint condition, guess i saved 900+ dollars compared to a new Nikkor, and in a shootout this little wonder kicks arse, can't even notice the difference.
As i said Buy It, you'll be happier with your photography, I know I am...! :) cheers!

Very impressed! Consistent Pro quality images.

I've been looking for a top quality everyday lens for my D500 that wouldn't set me back too much money. After doing some research I decided to give this Sigma lens a try after planning on getting the Sigma 18-35mm Art. Needless to say I'll gladly stick with this lens as it makes a wonderful combo with my D500. Frankly I don't feel like I'm losing anything to the Art lens especially taking the price difference into consideration.Read full review...

Best value in quality everyday zoom lens

It is a professional quality lens in consumer level price. It has the most useful focal lengths for 90% of the photo occasions, much better image quality than the kit zoom lens from your dSLR's manufacturer, and at a size, weight and cost that satisfy most people. This is a no brainer for any semi serious photographer. Must have!Read full review...

Great product much better than your kit lens.

Very good product...solid lens for my gf to replace her kit lens. Can't go terribly wrong with Sigma...love their lenses as much as I enjoy native lenses. I'm actually thinking about getting the same DC lens for my Canon...well, either this one or the 18-35mm Art. Thumbs up!Read full review...
