BEAUTIFUL SILK RIBBON EMBROIDERY an EASY 1-2-3 Step guide. Quick & EASY!

I remember silk ribbon embroidery is absolutely beautiful, but you don't see much of it around, today. I think it is almost a dead art, now, and may risk becoming a fading craft in the dust of history. Finding items, or information on this nearly lost craft, is a pretty hard task to take on. I have found a few books, but not too much has been written on the subject.

Silk, by nature, begins to deteriorate at about 100 years. So, if you ever do find something made of silk which is nearing the century mark in age, chances are it will be very fragile and show signs of shredding, or pulling apart. Unless the item have been carefully packed for preservation, aged silk items will literally crumble into dust.

I purchased this book because I wanted to create the beautiful silk decorated purses and accent a few smocks and hats. I also wanted to create some beautiful cards, which I like to make for my special friends and family. I don't expect for these items to last for generations, so the silk embroidery is perfect for creating gorgeous things for admiring now. But, I had forgotten some of the techniques to create certain effects I wanted to use. Silk Ribbon Embroidery Designs & Techniques was the perfect 'How-To' book I needed to refresh my memory. Just by flipping through it, all the 'step-by-step' pictures show each step clearly. It is fabulously well done and gets you started with whatever project you have in mind within minutes.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to create something beautiful, quickly. Silk embroidery is so beautiful, yet simple and costs so little . You don't have to know how to embroider. This book shows you everything with 1-2-3 photo steps. Even a child can look at the pictures and understand exactly what to do.
